News Image

“The Pursuit of Happiness”: a brilliant work that revolves around happiness as it examines how man sought it in numerous ways while also laying out several displays of the pursuit and its triumphs and failures. “The Pursuit of Happiness” is the creation of published author Emmanuel Adewunmi, a writer who loves God and wishes to share His immeasurable love for mankind in his writings. He hopes that through his works, people can come to know more about Him and develop a wonderful, fulfilling, and long-lasting relationship with Him.

Adewunmi shares, “The Pursuit of Happiness is a book about man’s quest for happiness. Throughout history, different categories of people have tried to obtain the answer to this quest. Philosophers, writers, and religious leaders have tried to explain how a man can have happiness.

“People on their own have sought happiness in different things and through various ways. They work hard at getting a good college degree, work hard at building up a good career, and work hard at having a family of their own, hoping to achieve happiness in the process. Others make the pursuit of wealth their ultimate goal. After all, they believe that money can buy everything. Some seek fame and fortune, admiring the celebrities whose smiling and happy faces are splashed all over the magazines, the Internet, and on televisions. They live glamorous lives and seem to be happy and to have it all. People want to be like them and live like them. Do they accomplish their goals? Are they truly happy? The book delves into these various attempts.

“The book also examines the life of King Solomon and his pursuit of happiness. He was reputed to be the wisest and richest monarch of his era. He tried various means, applied various methods, and did several things, but did he succeed in his quest? What are the things he did? What are his conclusions? What advice does he have for us today? The book makes it all plain.

“The book arrives at a conclusion. The final answers. What are these? What are the various ways and means of achieving happiness in our lives? The book tells it all.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Emmanuel Adewunmi’s new book is a thought-provoking read that dives into the subject of happiness and tackles man’s desire for it and its authenticity. Readers will also get to view several perspectives that will help them gain more relevant insight.

Home Instead Senior Care and The NLN Foundation Recognize Recipients of Geriatric Nursing Scholarship

Six outstanding nursing students’ commitment to serving the needs of older patients earned scholarships for demonstrating distinct leadership and dedication to their geriatric studies. For the third consecutive year, Home Instead Senior Care and The National League of Nursing Foundation for Nursing Education (NLNFNE) partnered to promote geriatric nursing education by awarding $10,000 in scholarships to these deserving individuals, who were recently honored at the 2020 NLN Education Virtual Summit September 23-25.

With our aging population increasing at a rapid pace, it will be more crucial than ever that our health care communities are comprised of individuals who deeply understand and advocate for the unique needs of these vulnerable patients. Through this scholarship, Home Instead and the NLN hope to inspire others to pursue a career benefiting older adults.

“Older adults rely the most on the U.S. health care system and their needs are often complex. Through the continued partnership of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education with Home Instead, we have helped over a dozen nursing students fulfill their academic goals and become emerging leaders in geriatrics,” said NLN Foundation Chair Dr. Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, FAONL, FNAP, FAAN. “As the voice for all levels of nursing education, the NLN Foundation and the National League for Nursing are proud to help nursing programs to graduate competent nurses to serve at the front lines of public health.”

This year’s scholarship recipients include nursing students from a number of prestigious universities across the U.S., including Home Instead alumni Kristen Lopatka. Now a student at Thomas Jefferson University, Lopatka began working with older adults as a Home Instead CAREGiver in West Chester, Pennsylvania, while attending nursing school. Through this experience she was exposed to how rewarding it can be to provide care for aging adults, which led her to pursue a career in nursing and furthered her desire to help adults through the challenges that come with aging.

“At Home Instead, we are driven every day to live by our mission to enhance the lives of older adults and their families,” said Jeff Huber, CEO of Home Instead Senior Care. “Through our partnership with the NLN Foundation, we hope to foster this mission by helping to prepare a strong and diverse workforce of nurses who share the same passion for providing older adults with the best quality of care.”

MIMIT Healthcare Leverages Biomedix’s Leading Front-Line Diagnostics Technology for Peripheral Vascular Disease, PADnet, To Save Limbs and Save Lives

“PADnet and Salesforce are foundational pieces of our community-based outreach program, enabling MIMIT Healthcare to work with doctors at the front line of care to deliver optimal patient outcomes through early detection and treatment of PAD with minimally-invasive outpatient procedures.”

MIMIT Healthcare, a multi-specialty health care group treating acute and chronic vascular and non-vascular related illnesses with several locations throughout Chicago, has successfully leveraged PADnet and Salesforce to coordinate with local doctors in delivering collaborative care. The world class care and minimally invasive treatments by industry-leading doctors, physicians, and surgeons, now combined with the revolutionary technology of PADnet, solidifies MIMIT Healthcare as one of the leading non-invasive health care groups in the nation.

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is a common chronic complication experienced by patients with diabetes. MIMIT Healthcare, through its founder Dr. Chopra, and their community outreach efforts, have collaborated with local healthcare providers to identify patients with PAD early in the progression of the disease, to be able to treat them with minimally-invasive procedures that relieve symptoms without requiring surgical procedures, and prevent lower-limb amputations.

PAD is a chronic disease affecting 21 million Americans, including 1 in 3 diabetics 50 and older, and 1 in 3 adults over the age of 70. This disease impacts African-Americans at a higher rate, who are 37% more likely to suffer from the disease. Gone untreated, PAD can lead to lower limb amputations. In fact, 100,000 Americans suffer from lower-limb amputations annually due to vascular disease like PAD, and 50% of them will be deceased within a year.

MIMIT Healthcare and Biomedix are working together, employing collaborative care to bend the healthcare cost curve. PAD costs the US healthcare system $390 billion annually, with $8.3 billion attributable to hospitalization costs associated with lower-extremity amputation. The two-year cost of a lower limb amputation is $91,000, while the lifetime cost is approximately $500,000. So with each amputation prevented, patient mortality is reduced, healthcare costs are reduced, and most importantly, patient outcomes and quality of life is optimized through early detection and treatment of chronic conditions.

About Biomedix

Biomedix is the maker of PADnet, the market leader in front-line diagnostics for peripheral vascular disease. PADnet is the only diagnostic device that can support the identification of PAD and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) through a unique collaborative care model.

James Tolly’s newly released “Poems by Bonnie and Gladys” captures the immense love of Bonnie for her life, faith, and family

News Image

“Poems by Bonnie and Gladys”: a lovely and well-written collection of poems that express a variety of thoughts about the world and life in general from different perspectives. “Poems by Bonnie and Gladys” is the creation of published author James Tolly, the husband of poet Bonnie who was a fifth grade teacher at Beaverton Schools in Beaverton, Michigan, from 1947 through 1991.

Tolly shares, “Bonnie loved her students and, as a child, tried to teach her young brother how to read. From early days Bonnie was a student and got very good marks in school and was valedictorian of the senior class at Beaverton Agricultural School in 1946. (I was the salutatorian that same year.) She got a scholarship for her first year at Central Michigan College then worked in a State of Michigan Corrections Department for a year then back to Central for the rest of her college days. With her college diploma in hand she went to The Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan and got a stenographic job in the Metallurgical Department. She remained there until early 1954 when our first child, a daughter, was born. Going forward a few years to 1967 she began teaching 5th grade at Beaverton and also took classes for her master’s degree at Central and attained an MA in elementary education. She taught until 1992 then retired. In the fall of 1992, she asked Jim to take her to see the school where she had taught then said, ‘I wish I hadn’t asked you to bring me back here. I’ll miss the teaching!’

“Another aspect of her life was music. She took piano lessons from her to-be late husband while she was in high school and after we married, we sang duets in a local church. She also recorded the story ‘The Littlest Angel’ for her family to enjoy over the years.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, James Tolly’s new book is a profound inspiration born from a purpose-filled journey captured in verses that word out what one has to say about life and fleeting moments.

Even the Rocks Will Cry Out — “Reconciliation, Not Hate!” at the March of Remembrance Global Day of Action

During the COVID-19 crisis we have witnessed a dramatic increase in racism and antisemitism worldwide, which hardly anyone would have believed possible. In many cities, tens of thousands of people are taking to the streets. The images of flying stones, burning cars, confrontation, sheer hatred and violence are a shocking sight. However, right now is the time to take a stand for reconciliation in our streets. The message of the March of Remembrance is: Reconciliation begins with me!

View a video here of The Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs and Public Diplomacy Orit Farkash haCohen who is talking about the importance of the international March of Life movement to bring peace to the streets and is endorsing the Global Day of Action “Reconciliation not Hate” on October 4, 2020.

During the COVID-19 crisis we have witnessed a dramatic increase in racism and antisemitism worldwide which hardly anyone would have believed possible. In many cities, tens of thousands of people are taking to the streets. The images of flying stones, burning cars, confrontation, sheer hatred and violence are a shocking sight. But right now is the time to take a stand for reconciliation on our streets. The message of the March of Life is: Reconciliation begins with me! Go to the streets of your city on the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot on October 4, 2020. While respecting the COVID-19 regulations of your country and city, let us send a bold message to Israel and the nations: “Reconciliation, not Hate!” – Together for Israel and Jewish life.

On Sunday, October 4, 2020, we are going to the streets of our community at King’s Harbor (4501 Magnolia Cove Dr. 77345) in Kingwood, Texas, in conjunction with the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). While respecting national and local COVID-19 regulations, we are sending a bold message to Israel and the nations: we choose reconciliation, not hatred, as we take a stand together for Israel and for Jewish life.

This Feast of Tabernacles, often called Festival of Booths, is a joyous celebration of the harvest commemorating the forty years the Israelites wandered in the desert before entering the Promised Land. Increasingly, Christians are choosing to celebrate this feast, as Jesus and the apostles celebrated this very special holiday as referenced in John 7:37-39.

The featured family-friendly activities of the day include music, Israeli dancing, puppets, drama, proclamations and special speakers including Houston’s Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin and Humble’s Mayor Merle Aaron. We will also paint rocks to honor the memory of children who suffered during the Holocaust. This day promises to help us make a clear statement for reconciliation instead of baseless hatred. According to Habakkuk 2:11 (CJB), “the very stones will cry out.” May even the stones resound with cries of ” Reconciliation, Not Hate!”

View another video of the Director of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus Josh Reinstein is thanking the March of Life movement for it´s global effort for Israel and it´s fight against antisemitism and is calling everyone to go to the streets for Israel and Jewish life on October 4, 2020: https://youtu.be/TuZO53xfSh0

The Lost Soul Series” is a profound revelation of the weaknesses and struggles from a new believer’s point of view

News Image

“Wild Fire: The Lost Soul Series”: a riveting narrative that witnesses the life of the Buchanans under the guiding light of Christ alit in all their journeys taken. “Wild Fire: The Lost Soul Series” is the creation of published author Rhonda Buchanan, a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman. She now measures her success by serving others, while sharing the gospel. She continues to do this through various outlets—writing, speaking, and serving.

Buchanan shares, “Wild Fire is the second book from The Lost Soul series. Right off the heels of the first book, The Butch-a-Cans Are Touching Down on American Soil, and bouncing back and forth from one country to another.

Diving back into a world that seems so foreign. It’s not the two different countries that make them feel uncomfortable. It’s the life-changing love from Christ. Jim always believed in God. However, this is a new realm for his wife, Rhonda. Wild Fire exposes and shows the vulnerabilities and concerns from a new believer’s perspective. They travel back into the depths of the Nicaraguan landfill, all while bringing along the once elusive ‘t-shirt people.’

“God’s clearly protecting this couple as they continue to find themselves in the middle of chaos and danger, only to fully believe without a doubt, who is leading the way. Some would say they need protection, guidance, and this is likely so when Rhonda finds herself on the side of an empty Nicaraguan dirt road, in the middle of the night, with the Nicaraguan police threatening to take her translator to jail. It’s as if this couple continues to walk straight into a lion’s den, only to find a layer of protection shielding them. What many people would consider a coincidence or lucky break, the Buchanans know it’s the love of Christ. They continue to rely on their faith and know it’s God who has placed an armor of protection around them.

“If you are not sure about ‘church people’ or ‘believers,’ you will be captivated by the transformation, as no questions seem to be off-limits with these two. You have probably had the exact same thoughts, questions, and you will find you are not alone. Rhonda has always been a thrill-seeker, looking for adventure at all times. Always looking for that next adrenaline rush. However, this is a rush she did not go looking for, and for once she becomes timid by the ‘church people,’ wondering how this all happened, yet not giving up. This journey will pull at your heartstrings, make you laugh, yet at the same time feel the seriousness of it all.

“If you have a long-standing relationship with Christ, be prepared to catch yourself wanting to reach out and (kindly) shake them to say, ‘No, it’s not that way. You’re only making it harder on yourself.’ Be prepared to be captivated as they travel into this new world—a world that has changed who they are for life. No going back, yet no idea what will happen as they travel on with nothing but faith.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Rhonda Buchanan’s new book continues the exciting journey of the Buchanans within The Lost Soul series. Here, readers will see how the protagonists find themselves in the middle of a series of seemingly unending problems but are navigated throughout with God’s direction.

Author Paul Eric Alexander Sr.’s newly released “The Biblical Truth” is a thorough, eye-opening examination of the gift of tongues and prophecy

News Image

“The Biblical Truth”: a thought-provoking and perceptive analysis of the gift of tongues and prophecy. “The Biblical Truth” is the creation of published author, Paul Eric Alexander Sr., who is the former senior pastor of Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (Seagoville, Texas) and holds a four-year theology diploma and Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies from Southern Bible Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from Tyndale Theological Seminary.

The author writes: “All truths are easy to understand once they have been discovered. Apostle Paul desired that the Corinthian church as well as today’s local church do all things in the appropriate order without confusion among God’s people. This Godly order was to guide them in proper worship and order in the church. These instructions to do all things decently and in order are still applicable today. Things that are done decently and in order will advance the church in building up believers and bring sinners to repentance. Let everything be without confusion, disorder, and division. God is the author of peace as in all the churches of the saints.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Paul Eric Alexander Sr.’s new book provides a powerful perspective on understanding the gift of tongues, prophecy, and the proper use of tongues in local churches, emphasizing how a clearer and more thorough knowledge and awareness of these principles can serve as a catalyst to ending confusion, disorder, and division.

Rick Wilson’s newly released “Father God, After Believing in Jesus as Savior, Can One Lose Their Salvation?” is an enlightening read about most believers’ curiosities

News Image

“Father God, After Believing in Jesus as Savior, Can One Lose Their Salvation?”: a stirring discussion that looks at the scriptures and how they define sin, its consequences, the difference between the old and new covenants, and many others. “Father God, After Believing in Jesus as Savior, Can One Lose Their Salvation?” is the creation of published author Rick Wilson, the eldest son of a pastor. He was raised in a very conservative home and accepted Jesus as Savior at a very early age.

Wilson shares, “It is not uncommon in biblical history for God to use the unqualified, the uneducated, and the uncooperative to do His will. He has provided direction and revelation for such people for the express purpose of bringing glory to Himself and His plan. Here I am, fulfilling all three of the undesirable human characteristics for the express purpose of bringing Jesus glory.

“After one receives Jesus as Lord and Savior, a hunger to read the Bible soon follows. The more I learned and grew, the more questions sprouted during my Christian growth. Big personal questions followed, and I wanted big personal answers.

“I believe many of us have similar questions too. This book answers not only the title question but more questions than just the ones listed below:

1.    Would Jesus really erase someone’s name from His book of Life? And if so, why?

2.    God gave humanity free will, but are there limits to one’s free will?

3.    Can one really renounce one’s salvation?

4.    How do the Ten Commandments apply to believers in Jesus and His new covenant? What are the differences between the two covenants? How do those differences apply to one’s life?

5.    If I am forgiven of all my sins, do I still pay for my sins?

6.    If Jesus forgave all my sins, what will I be judged for?

7.    I believe my past sins are forgiven, but what about today’s and tomorrow’s sins?

8.    Do I have to confess all my sins till the day I die? What if I forget to confess a sin?

9.    Is it right that we’re taught we are saved by grace in the new covenant but then we must live by obedience to the Ten Commandments in the old covenant? What chance of success do we have of that since Jesus is the only person to never break a single law and never sin?

10. What happens when I deliberately sin?

11. How did Jesus define sin differently than Moses?”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Rick Wilson’s new book is a well-written guide that will help every believer navigate their way as they walk on their spiritual journey through these illuminating pages with a biblical foundation that brings forward answers.
