We’re building a community where everyone’s included. Where people can compete, or play, or move. Where adaptive athletes can push what they’re capable of, and show the world, so that it’s no longer a surprise, Move United Executive Director Glenn Merry

Move United, the national leader in community adaptive sports, uses the power of sport to push what’s possible for people with disabilities, confronting ignorance, fueling conversation, and inciting action that leads us to a world where everyone’s included. The national nonprofit organization, which offers more than 70 adaptive sports to 100,000 youth and adults with disabilities through a network of 200 member organizations in 43 states, has elected three individuals to its board of directors, including Phyllis Bayer, Clayton Frech, and Joe Walsh.

Bayer is the Vice President of Dumbarton Strategies, LLC, where she is an advisor and consultant on issues relevant to defense policies, military installations, and economic and environmental impacts. Prior to this, she served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations, and Environment, overseeing $400B of capital assets on 4 million acres world-wide supporting the Navy and Marine Corps. Bayer has three decades of executive experience in the Department of Defense, where she addressed complex challenges associated with large organizations, including strategic planning, culture change, and managing people, performance, and budgets. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and a Master’s degree in National Security Policy Studies from the National War College.

Frech has over 20 years of leadership experience in government, non-¬profit, and business. Early in his career he worked in The White House Office of Policy Development and at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. His 15 year-old son, Ezra, is currently on the U.S. Paralympic Track & Field team and training for Tokyo. He founded Angel City Sports to meet the need for free, year-round adaptive sports programming in Southern California and beyond. Prior to starting Angel City, he served as the Regional Vice-¬President of Safelite AutoGlass, managing the $100 Million California Region, with over 600 employees and 35 retail/warehouse facilities. He is also the CEO and Founder of the Ampla Institute, a career planning and coaching firm, and was heavily engaged in the LA2024 Olympic and Paralympic Bid. Frech has a BA in Economics from UCSB and an MBA from UCLA.

Walsh is a native of Braintree, MA, and a graduate of Dartmouth College and UMass Amherst. He is a two-time Paralympian in cross country skiing, and former Managing Director of Paralympics for the United States Olympic Committee. He served on Team USA’s delegation staff at six Paralympic Games and as Chef de Mission at two Parapan American Games. Walsh coached youth cross country skiing for 13 seasons, served on the founding staff of the C. Everett Koop Institute at Dartmouth, and was the first Paralympic athlete representative elected to the USOC Athlete’s Advisory Council and Board of Directors. He also served as Vice President of the International Blind Sports Federation from 2013-2017. Walsh is currently president of Adaptive Sports New England, a Boston-based non-profit dedicated to increasing participation in sports by youth and young adults who have a visual or mobility impairment.

“We’re building a community where everyone’s included. Where people can compete, or play, or move. Where adaptive athletes can push what they’re capable of, and show the world, so that it’s no longer a surprise,” said Move United Executive Director Glenn Merry. “Bringing Phyllis, Clayton, and Joe onto our board of directors will help us continue this movement and achieve our Vision 2028 goals.” To learn more about the organization, visit http://www.moveunitedsport.org.

Captain Randall J. Jansen, USMC Ret.’s newly released “Duty Is Ours, Results Are God’s” unveils one’s purposeful life as a US Marine and transition into a common citizen

News Image

“Duty Is Ours, Results Are God’s”: a captivating account of the author’s impassioned moments in the US Marine Corps and as a normal citizen that emanates with wisdom and fervor. “Duty Is Ours, Results Are God’s” is the creation of published author Captain Randall J. Jansen, USMC Ret.

Captain Jansen shares, “In ‘Duty is Ours, Results are God’s,’ Captain Randall J. Jansen tells of his tough and demanding yet adventurous and exciting nine years in the US Marine Corps. He discusses principles to follow and life lessons to be learned, along with interesting and sometimes funny stories.

“Jansen began as a private in boot camp and later earned his officer’s commission and naval aviator wings through attending flight school at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. Graduation was followed by his worldwide service as a helicopter pilot in the Caribbean Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and Vietnam. Jansen was seriously wounded on his 248th combat flight mission during the Vietnam War, the resulting disability of which led to his mandatory retirement from the US Marine Corps.

“Following his career in the Marine Corps, Jansen transitioned back to civilian life and began an extended investigation into some critical and perplexing questions. Why would someone voluntarily serve or commit to duty which could result in serious injury or death? Is service worth it? Where do we get the concept of freedom, liberty, purpose, or self-sacrifice? Is there absolute truth or is everything relative? Is there a correct, reasonable, or logical worldview by which people should live? If there is, how does someone find it and then live it?”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Captain Randall J. Jansen, USMC Ret.’s new book divulges an awe-inspiring trail in life that exudes determination and faith worthy of recognition.

This book presents the dedication of a soldier and ordinary citizen that shows his resilience to an ever-changing yet blessed life.

Dr. Louis Toth’s new book “Beware of the Man with Only One Religious Book! He Is Incapable of Knowing the Truth” is a thought-provoking work for devout readers

News Image

Louis Toth, Ph.D, is an Indiana native, US Air Force veteran, and son of Pentecostal ministers who has earned advanced degrees in multiple scientific disciplines and now lives in California with his wife of more than fifty years. He has published his new book “Beware of the Man with Only One Religious Book! He Is Incapable of Knowing the Truth”: a contemplative discussion of dogma and faith.

The author writes, “The thesis of this book is that people and religions that have one religious book as guidance cannot be true (in the larger sense of shared truth) and that government that are faith-based cannot represent all the people. Free and open discussions and serious debate are essential for arriving at truth and democratic government. And religion is detrimental to world peace.

The discussions presented assert that: there are many religions and that ALL their gods are ‘pretend’ (given arbitrary characteristics), and new gods/religions have been easily made by many persons who visit the desert, wilderness, mountain-top, or any place of solitude where they were able to receive god’s calling without witnesses, and then they decree that god wants to speak through them (and only to them) and echoed by their appointed priests. If they can get gullible people to follow them and their god’s rules, they can establish their own religion (and warriors).

The primary focus of the book’s discussions will be to establish ‘ground rules’ for establishing ‘truth’. Then as examples, discussions are presented with other explanations of “miracles” in order to reconsider some of the Bible dogma specifically attributed to Jehovah, Moses, Passover, and the roles of all the gods involved in the story of the Exodus.

The Bible (or Torah) may tell a different story when we discount miracles and explain them with other real possibilities. The conclusions may be different when we explore the plausibility that 1) Moses was the son of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (later called Akhenaten who converted Egypt to a monotheistic religion) and Jochebed (a lesser wife—if married at all) and that 2) Moses was an Aten Priest who killed King Tut. The Exodus (and Adam and Eve) would have different explanations if Jehovah were not invented until on Mount Sinai in 1311 BCE (Before the Common Era) . . . not ‘In the Beginning’ of the existence of the world. Also, the Passover, ‘the Jews’ took in leaving Egypt would be logical if one sees Moses’ attempt to assert his claim to the pharaoh throne. And the Jews wandering in the desert would be reasonable if one considers that they were advised and supported by Moses’ father-in-law, Jethro, who was the nomadic high priest of the Druze religion (also a monotheistic type).

These possibilities are herein explored in some detail, and the events are presented with a ‘psychological history’ that includes the back stories, motivation, and relationships behind the characters and events. These discussions encourage rational thought and open-mindedness.”

Published by Page Publishing, Louis Toth’s engrossing book is a scientific exploration of accepted religious truths found across the sacred texts of multiple faiths.

Readers who wish to experience this engaging work can purchase “Beware of the Man with Only One Religious Book! He Is Incapable of Knowing the Truth” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Volume II” continues the author’s profound spiritual journey as he embraces a life of worship

News Image

“Moment by Moment I Pray: Volume II”: an inspiring autobiography that focuses on the events in the author’s prayer life as he stood back up and found the strength to continue writing and living. “Moment by Moment I Pray: Volume II” is the creation of published author Warren S. Banks, a family-oriented man.

Banks shares, “This is part 2 of Moment by Moment, I Pray, which deals with my praying life from September 1, 2016–April 30, 2017. The story behind part 2 is the same as that of part 1, which dealt with my prayer life from February 10, 2016 and ends on August 31, 2016. I found myself alone after the funeral of my beloved wife, Annie Jewel (Chief) Banks. We had been together almost fifty years. The funeral was held on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Ben Hill UMC, located in the heart of the Ben Hill community. After a forty-plus-mile drive to our birth home of Griffin, Georgia, she was laid to rest. Three days after her funeral, I took my original manuscript from a storage area in the house that we had made our home and had raised our family and went out into the backyard and destroyed all twenty-six thousand handwritten pages. I did not see the need to continue writing or to live. But that was January 8, 2015. I looked up into the heavens and asked the Lord what he wanted me to do. I said, Lord, I have pulled myself up from a small town in the state of Georgia named Griffin, Georgia. I had completed Fairmont High School, entered Clark College (now known as Clark Atlanta University); completion date was May 1970; completed Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Georgia State University Schools of Education for my first teacher’s certification to teach school and the School of Management.

“From 1966–1970, I completed my degree in sociology and psychology. During my senior year at Clark, I married the love of my life, Miss Annie Jewel Hosely, my high school sweetheart, also from Griffin, Georgia. We set up housekeeping in Atlanta, Georgia. But in January 1971, I was drafted into the Army and I was shipped to the Republic of South Vietnam to serve a tour of duty, as a squad leader, in a military police unit. I worked very hard and I was promoted to the rank of sergeant E5. I survived Vietnam and many other situations, but Chief’s death took a toll upon the very essence of my soul. But on February 12, 2016, I started back writing, and after a talk with the Lord, on September 17, 2018, I had handwritten about three thousand pages. At this point, I asked the Lord, ‘Lord, what do you want me to do?’ A soft but firm voice came to me, ‘Warren, my son, I want you to publish your story, which you have written in the form of a continued prayer.’ Well, looking back upon my life, the Lord has always been there for me, even when I thought my life was over.

“About seven days later, I was listening to my favorite gospel radio station. I heard his message, ‘If you are considering publishing your manuscript, call this number or go to this website.’ I was not quick enough to get the information down; therefore, I missed out on getting the information that I needed to make my contact. But a few days later, while I was again listening to the same radio station, that same message came again. This time, I was able to get the information that I needed and I made the contact. Within the next few minutes, I received a phone call. The person on the other end of the line said that she had been assigned from the Christian Faith Publishing Company to serve as my literary agent. I was told that she would me my guide throughout the production process. I was given information that I needed to mail my manuscript to. I mailed my manuscript off to the address that was given to me. Within a few days, I got a call from my agent indicating that my manuscript had been accepted for publication. I was really beside myself. I have been in constant prayer with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He saw so much more in me than I saw in myself. He said that he would never leave me nor forsake me, and he never has.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Warren S. Banks’s new book is the poignant tale of a life that found light amidst the darkness of his personal struggles and embarked on a journey of worship. In this book, readers will have a glimpse of his transformed life.

News Image

“The Internet of Heaven”: an intriguing story about a secretive man who ascertains the God Formula and uses it to seek control while keeping his true origins from others. “The Internet of Heaven” is the creation of published author Wisam B. Ra’ad, a passionate writer with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Manitoba.

Ra’ad shares, “As a deep operative working alone for world peace, Sammy Hanna had been trained from a young age to be a warrior. One day, a new destiny dawned when he discovered what was referred to as the God Formula. It revealed what had been undefined and would produce extraordinary results. His objective was to obtain complete control. Sammy demonstrated his influence on Earth. A new age had come through takeovers of the internet, achieving higher levels of consciousness, recurring virgin births, and miracles.

“Sammy’s life was in constant danger throughout his existence. His identity was initially secret and his divinity unclear. His progress was crippled by an illness that caused him much pain and suffering. Through a series of highs and lows, dreams and hallucinations, he evolves in consciousness to realize a new human identity that will help shape the future. He was the most unlikely hero. He reveals himself slowly through lecturing and writing until there is no other conclusion that could be reached. Sammy had arrived and would change the path of humanity to avoid its destruction. Everything was connected, infinitely.

“As the universe exposes its yet unseen beauty and expanse, many possibilities appear for all of us to explore. The novel is particularly relevant in a time of constant changes and advancements in technology. With international settings like Paris, Jerusalem, Toronto, and Dubai among others, the writing blends scientific facts with fictional creations.”
