Ashley Lynn Holmes’s newly released “The Gift Of Suffering” is a poignant testimony of how Christianity led one heart to overcome adverse life situations

News Image

“The Gift Of Suffering”: a beautiful journey through pages that dive into the subject of suffering, adversities, and finding eventual triumph. “The Gift Of Suffering” is the creation of published author Ashley Lynn Holmes, a writer who lives an adventurous life. Though challenging, she is very pleased with the path God has created for her life.

Holmes shares, “Suffering is a part of life. The degree to which we suffer varies greatly. We see bad things happen to good people, and good things happen to bad people. This is one of the top reasons people don’t want to believe in God. They don’t want to believe a benevolent God would have so many suffer. During times of trial, we look to God. We grieve when we cannot find God amongst horror.

“What if our suffering is a gift? A gift that is put there to serve the glory of God. What can we gain from the bad that exists all around us? What good can possibly come out of it? It is so easy to look at how suffering has harmed us. Can we look at how suffering rewards us?”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Ashley Lynn Holmes’s new book is an inspirational read that presents the beauty of suffering and overcoming it. It brings hope after the storm and journeys the reader through pages of biblical foundation meant to move hearts of believers.

What If Jesus Comes Back in 2025? Asks New empty tomb Report

Had giving remained in 2018 at 3.02%, which was the 1968 level, churches in the composite set would have received $8 billion more in 2018 than they did.

The new report from empty tomb, inc., The State of Church Giving through 2018, asks church members and leaders to consider, What if Jesus comes back in 2025?

The book notes that all Christian traditions affirm the ideas in the Apostles’ Creed, if not the creed itself, which states that Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead.

Chapter 8 states, “Jesus’ return could be today, or in 2025, or occur thousands of years from now.” The year 2025 is selected for discussion because three groups have set goals to reach by that year.

Chapter 8 also considers possible consequences if the church in the U.S. does not prepare as if Jesus is coming back in 2025, and possible consequences if it does.

The new book, the 30th in the empty tomb series, also updates church membership giving and membership numbers through 2018.

Overall, the report notes, giving as a percent of income, and membership as a percent of U.S. population, have been in decline among church members in the U.S. By 2018, for example, per member giving to churches as a percent of income had declined, on average, from 3.02% in 1968 to 2.05% in 2018, the latest data year available as of this report.

Church membership as a percent of U.S. population also posted declines. A group of 34 Protestant communions and the Roman Catholic Church represented 45% of U.S. population in 1968 and 33% in 2018.

The report notes that church leaders have not been able to tap potential increased giving among church members. Had giving remained in 2018 at 3.02%, which was the 1968 level, churches in the composite set would have received $8 billion more in 2018 than they did.

Had giving grown toward the classic tithe, or 10% of income, rather than decreased, churches would have had over $400 billion more to spend on their mission outreach.

The new book notes three groups have set goals to be reached by 2025. Wycliffe Bible translators is leading an effort to start Bible translations in every language by 2025. An umbrella group of organizations under the name Finishing the Task is setting a goal for having a worker to help start self-multiplying churches in every people group by 2025.

A third goal is to “close the Promise Gap” by 2025. The Promise Gap is defined as the difference between the target reduction goal “promised” (their word) by world leaders in 1990 and again in 2000, for the Under-5 Mortality Rate (U5MR) – – and the actual U5MR. Because the target reduction goal was not met in 2018, the new book estimates, 1.2 million children under the age of five died that year from treatable causes. The book proposes that church people work through their distribution channels, and, in Jesus’ name, prevent these deaths.

The new book also analyzes 2018 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey data. As in past years, Americans reported that giving to “church, religious organizations” received the largest portion of income given, whether considered by age group, income level, or region of residence. The second highest category was “charities and other organizations,” followed by “educational institutions” and “Gifts to non-CU [consumer unit] members of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.”

Once again this year, the “Under 25 years” gave a low percentage of income. Of what they did give, they reported 71% of their donations went to “church, religious organizations,” consistent with most past years of CE analysis done in the empty tomb series.

The new book, published December 2020, is available at Wipf and Stock Publishers.

Shoes of Truth respond to “Satan Shoes” with their own design

Shoes of Truth leader encourages Christians to Stand Firm

Shoes of Truth leader encourages Christians to Stand Firm

We Need to STAND FIRM! We need to stand firm for biblical values, when our politicians won’t. We need to stand firm for biblical knowledge, when our schools won’t. We need to stand firm for biblical truth, when most news outlets won’t. We need to stand firm for our Children, when our culture won’t.

In direct response to rapper Lil Nas X’s release of “Satan Shoes”, several notable Christian influencers banded together to start Shoes of Truth, a biblical-based shoe line. They are working in partnership with local custom shoe customizers to release the “Stand Firm” sneaker. This strong group of believers wants to offer Christians a tangible alternative to the world and our children.

This strong group of Christians found themselves in shock as they watched a prominent entertainment figure and name brand company get away with the blatant glorification of Satan on the world’s mainstage. Their shock quickly gave way to a sense of urgency that God was calling them to respond with the truth of His word. Based upon Ephesians 6:10-15, Shoes of Truth wants to arm today’s Christians to “put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.” All proceeds will go to furthering the Gospel through local churches.

The shoes will be available for pre-order in an initial, limited edition drop via shoesoftruth.com on April 4, 2021, Easter Sunday.

Shoes of Truth Mission Statement: We believe we are living in a time where evil is no longer playing fair and has leaked its way into our schools, mainstream entertainment, politics and so much more. It has been slowly blinding us from the truth, chipping away at our clarity and turning us to confusion. As evil permeates our entire culture, it encourages us to endorse wickedness while destroying our families, dividing us from each other and leaving us broken, alone and full of hate.

Shoes of Truth knows that Satan is no longer hiding, no longer playing easy, no longer scheming under the radar. As dedicated followers of Christ, we are called to stand firm in the face of evil, deny the temptation to give in and instead walk in truth of God’s Word and be a light shining into a dark world.

We Need to STAND FIRM

We need to stand firm for biblical values, when our politicians won’t.

We need to stand firm for biblical knowledge, when our schools won’t.

We need to stand firm for biblical truth, when most news outlets won’t.

We need to stand firm for our Children, when our culture won’t.

We need to stand firm and walk in the Shoes of Truth

(But God Calls her ‘Precious’)” is a powerful message at how one can find true love and hope in the arms of the Father

News Image

“A Tin Can Life: (But God Calls her ‘Precious’)”: a potent tome that speaks about the life of Leah as she faced a journey of tragedy and pain but found salvation and strength in the Savior who saved her from all her hurts. “A Tin Can Life: (But God Calls her ‘Precious’)” is the creation of published author D. Nobody, a caregiver and poet. She feels her purpose in life is to love and encourage other people that there is hope in Christ Jesus.

D. Nobody shares, “The name and photo on her nursing home employee I.D. does not begin to reveal Leah’s identity, her story. She has been through hell and back in many respects, yet spend a little time with her and you will get a very real sense of her redemption. She knows how to laugh as well as cry and both are cleansing. She doles out hugs and words of affirmation, which prove to be cleansing as well.

“And her story, though tragic, is not an ongoing tragedy. She is ever learning and relearning that who she is, is more than her past and her past is what opened her eyes to Jesus, which makes her present and future full of hope and glory. Her forever identification in Christ assures that. But it has been a long, hard journey – one that began the very moment she was born.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, D. Nobody’s new book is a beautiful testimony of a life that relied on God as she passed through her personal trials and tribulations.

This story is shared in the hopes of extending the love she felt in Christ to others who need His grace.
