It is my hope that others, especially pastors, will find this book an encouragement and inspiration as they, too, meet the challenges of life and make their own personal journey toward emotional and spiritual wholeness

Author Carolyn Cammenga shares the story of how God healed her heart and assured her that she was wanted in What Others Reject, God Accepts: A Pastor’s Journey Toward Wholeness ($16.99, paperback, 9781662819001; $9.99, e-book, 9781662819018).

Cammenga’s birth mother was unmarried and left her in the care of her maternal grandparents. She spent 4 ½ happy years with them before, for reasons she did not understand, they put her up for adoption. Cammenga was welcomed into a wonderful, loving family, but she could not overcome the feeling that she was rejected and unwanted. In this book, she tells her story to testify that God is the One who accepts what others do not.

“It is my hope that others, especially pastors, will find this book an encouragement and inspiration as they, too, meet the challenges of life and make their own personal journey toward emotional and spiritual wholeness,” said Cammenga.

Rev. Carolyn Cammenga is a retired pastor with a BA degree in Speech and Drama from Monmouth College, an MS degree in Guidance and Counseling from Illinois State University, a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Theology degree from Calvin Theological Seminary. In addition to teaching in various schools around the world, she worked alongside her husband to plant churches in Illinois and Michigan. Cammenga was ordained by the Presbyterian Church USA in 1980, and the Christian Reformed Church in 2005. She served a number of churches in various capacities up until her retirement in 2012. Now widowed, she has four children, ten grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Author Kathi L. Norris’s newly released “Now I Have Seen You” is an inspirational compilation of true testimonials of how God reaches out during times of despair

News Image

“Now I Have Seen You”: a spiritual compilation of living testimonials. “Now I Have Seen You” is the creation of published author Kathi L. Norris, a devoted follower of Christ for over three decades, amongst others.

Norris’ journey to composing this work began when her husband passed away at the young age of twenty eight. She explains, “I was a Christian and had searched high and low for two years looking through the scriptures for answers and direction during his illness. There were endless tears and crying out to God.

I remember reading the book of Job and thinking, No one wants to be the person reading this book because you think you relate. At the end of the book, chapter 42, Job says to God, ‘I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.’ I was so impacted! I realized that during the two years that my husband had been ill, I was able to see, with my own eyes, the character of God in a way that I never would have been able to otherwise.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Kathi L. Norris’s new book inspires and reaffirms faith at work in everyday lives.

It wasn’t until after her hardship that clarity was bestowed upon her and realization set in that God presented himself to Norris during her time of need. She now knows that when people are suffering, whether from despair, grief, loss, or heartbreak, that they can see and feel God’s presence in their lives, for he will reach out to his followers during their darkest hour, so long as they have faith in their hearts.

Onsite services will include supportive housing, individualized case management and peer support services.

“The department and the Lake County Redevelopment Commission were eager to help the veterans in our area and, while it took a few years, very soon the facility will be open helping veterans with affordable housing options and unique social services,” Brown said. “It has been a pleasure to work with A Safe Haven and their supporting staff to make this project a reality.”

VA provides these services for participating Veterans at VA medical centers (VAMCs) and community-based outreach clinics to help Veterans find and sustain permanent housing. HUD has approved 75 vouchers for use by veterans for this project.

To make this development a reality the leadership team at A Safe Haven Foundation has worked with KMA Companies as the development partner and the City of Hobart on this project for almost three years.

Vazquez Rowland also announced that Veterans Matter, a Toledo, Ohio-based organization, has agreed to generously donate the cost of the applications for the apartments for all qualified veterans. Aldon E. Cotton’s newly released “Lord, Sunday Is Coming What Shall I Preach?” is an articulate exploration of what it takes to create weekly sermons

News Image

“Lord, Sunday Is Coming What Shall I Preach?”: a thought-provoking exploration of what is needed to create inspiring sermons. “Lord, Sunday Is Coming What Shall I Preach?” is the creation of published author Aldon E. Cotton, a passionate Christian, loving father, and instructor at Christian Bible College of Louisiana. Despite losing both legs, Pastor Cotton continues to be a compelling and powerful orator of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Cotton shares, “If you are a pastor of a church, then this book will aid in bringing a balance to your life to avoid burnout in your pastorage. As a pastor, you cannot afford to be so occupied during the week with secondary responsibilities and then do what we call a “Saturday night special.” In this book, you will find proven methods that will shine light on the path that leads to a prepared preacher who is ready to mound the pulpit.

“If you are an associate minister with a desire to one day be a pastor, then this book will give you some insights to what is involved in the life of a pastor. Pastoring is more than having an opportunity to preach every Sunday.

“If you are a Sunday school teacher, then this book will equip you with steps to take as you seek to share with your students. In this book, you will find a structure to guide you through a given outline and to conclude if the topic is in agreement with the text. As you use this tool, you should see spiritual babies become matured in the Scriptures and in their walk with the Lord Jesus.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Aldon E. Cotton’s new book is an encouraging tool for pastors, associate ministers, and Sunday school teachers.

With years of experience and a passion for preaching the Gospel, Pastor Cotton writes in hopes of encouraging others who seek to spread the word of God.

David Jensen’s newly released “What Is the New Jerusalem?” brilliantly brings true and illuminating knowledge of God’s Word of Truth

News Image

“What Is the New Jerusalem?”: a reflective account that brings out the truth behind the inaccuracies in the church in order for the children of God to properly divine His Word. “What Is the New Jerusalem?” is the creation of published author David Jensen, a loving father and husband. His brother Bob led him to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1981, and he has been growing in the faith since.

Jensen shares, “We all know about how we were taught that when we die we will stand before Peter at the pearly gates and he holds a book determining if we are worthy of entering the gates of heaven. We were told we will be running down streets of gold and having a mansion we reside in this enormous cube extending 1500 miles in all directions. But have you really thought about that? Have you considered how strange that would look on the earth?

“When I began studying that, I noticed that it is not mentioned in scripture. But what is mentioned is the description of the bride of Christ. In Revelation chapter 21, John is describing the bride as a beautiful city and not a literal super cube coming down. In this book, I will go verse by verse explaining this description so you can have an accurate knowledge of the Word of God.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, David Jensen’s new book is a comprehensive tackling around the Word of God to provide a much more truthful account of His message and His plans for humanity.

Food City and Richard Petty Celebrate Paralyzed Veterans of America’s 75th Anniversary and Kick Off July 4th Holiday with In-Store Donation Drive

News Image

Paralyzed Veterans of America, the nation’s only nonprofit organization dedicated solely to supporting veterans with spinal cord injuries, disorders, and diseases, today kicked off an annual checkout campaign just days before the fourth of July holiday with long-time partners Food City and champion racecar driver Richard Petty. Centered around celebrating PVA’s 75th anniversary and helping America’s heroes, all donations made at Food City supermarkets will go directly to PVA to provide life-changing programs and services to support America’s veterans FREE of charge so that they can live full, productive lives after injury.

“2021 is a big year for PVA,” said U.S. Air Force veteran and national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America David Zurfluh. “In addition to celebrating our 75th year of supporting veterans, we are also kicking off our 11-year partnership with Food City – that’s more than 4,000 days of working together to help veterans gain access to quality care, benefits, and career opportunities they deserve. Thanks to Food City, their generous customers, and long-time supporter Richard Petty, PVA can support more Veterans and their families around the nation (just like mine).”

The fundraising campaign will run at Food City’s supermarket chain stores from June 30, 2021, through July 27, 2021. Customers can select $1, $3, and $5 donations at Food City checkouts and their gift amount will be added to their order total.

“I am honored to support PVA and their partnership with Food City,” said Petty. “PVA has been around for a long time – empowering veterans through adaptive sports, fighting for greater accessibility, searching for a cure for paralysis, and so much more. Aligning myself with this important campaign is my way of not only relaying my gratitude to veterans for their service and sacrifice but also encouraging others to do the same.”

“We are also so grateful to our hardworking staff and loyal customers, said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer. “With their help, we raised over $560,000 last year to help PVA fulfill its mission of empowering America’s veterans to regain what they fought for: their freedom and independence! We look forward to working alongside PVA and Richard Petty again this year and many more record-breaking years yet to come!”

A Christmas tree lot, owned by a kind, elderly man, is visited by the people in the village each Christmas. There are shops and cafes offering cider, cocoa, and coffee adjacent to the tree lot. It is a very unusual tree. As they go inside the shop to pay for it, a beautiful lady offers them some hot cocoa. It is Mary, the Christmas Tree Man’s daughter. Luke and Mary are instantly attracted to each other, and soon begin a relationship. The children remark that Mary looks like a woman in their dreams.

The very special tree that the children have picked out is planted outside, near the small village church.

Christmas Eve arrives and after church, Luke and the children are invited to dinner with the Christmas Tree Man and Mary. That evening, Luke and Mary become engaged. Everyone is elated.
