New book speaks about healing the theism/atheism divide to bring renewed hope that peace on earth is still a real possibility

News Image

We are beginning to understand that our existential challenges are no longer just local or national, but rather are global in nature — that we are all one and must all be working on solving the problems together.

“I see the escalation of divisiveness in an already troubled world as a serious threat to our existence. Religious differences between individuals, groups, and nations are high on the list of ideological divides, and high on that list is the schism between theism—and in particular, Christianity—and atheism. In large part, that schism exists because of the enormous lack in understanding of each side for the other. I wanted to do my part to help heal that divide by offering to each side an opportunity to learn perhaps more about their own metaphysical views, but much more so to learn about the other’s,” David G. Mutchler states.

“Theism Vs. Atheism: Where the Twain Shall Meet” (published by Balboa Press) is about healing the theism/atheism divide while there is still time. Mutchler believes that doing so will bring renewed hope that peace on earth is still a real possibility. This book is divided into four parts. Part One is a series of introductory chapters that establish the foundation upon which the remainder of the book stands. Part Two puts Christianity under the microscope, first from the Christian’s point of view (Two A), followed by the atheists’ perspective on the Christian faith (Two B). In reverse order of Part Two, Part Three focuses on the subject of atheism, first as seen by atheists (Three A), followed by the Christians’ view of atheism (Three B). Part Four is Mutchler’s own perspective on how Christianity and atheism can come together and actually help each other resolve their differences.

“We are beginning to understand that our existential challenges are no longer just local or national, but rather are global in nature — that we are all one and must all be working on solving the problems together. Doing so requires international cooperation to alleviate tension whenever and wherever it exists. The theism/atheism divide is a mounting case of world tension, since atheism is on the rise and Christianity is in steady decline. There needs to be a clear pathway for people on both sides to join in the cause of understanding and respecting people who look and think differently than themselves,” Mutchler says.

Through the publication of this book, Mutchler wants theists/Christians to develop a clear understanding of — and respect for — what atheists believe, and why; for atheists to develop a clear understanding of —and respect for — what theists/Christian believe, and why; to gain an awareness that the two sides have something deeply in common; and that joining together to follow the path they share in common — where the twain shall meet —will be a giant step toward achieving peace and harmony in the world.     For more details about the book, please visit https://www.balboapress.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/833705-theism-vs-atheism

About the Author

David G. Mutchler earned degrees in education, philosophy, social work, and psychology, in addition to doing advanced studies in theology. He has taught at the secondary, university, and business levels, with honors in each. He is also the author of “Beyond the Ego: Where Love, Joy, and Peace of Mind Await You,” and “Lessons for Living Beyond the Ego.” As an integrative thinker, he has once again brought his various studies and life experiences together “to help people dissolve the walls that separate us from our inner selves as well as from one another.” Two of the trademarks of Mutchler’s work are his focus on disentangling and simplifying concepts that are typically thought to be both complex and esoteric, and his how-to approach to help people assimilate and apply those concepts to the betterment of themselves, others, and the world.

(Rivers of Living Waters)” is an engaging exploration of the author’s personal and spiritual life

News Image

“A Preacher’s Confession: (Rivers of Living Waters)”: a potent tale of one man’s battle to walk in the light. “A Preacher’s Confession: (Rivers of Living Waters)” is the creation of published author Thomas Chesley.

Chesley shares, “When I gave my life to the Lord, I used to get angry with myself all the time and I felt hopeless. I kept falling into sin and making dumb decisions that kept me from being successful. How could I be so smart and still be so stupid that I can’t beat this thing? Self-pity began to gain strength. I got depressed, at one point I was homeless, and I gave up on myself. I walked away from God many times. One day my mother prayed with me and gave me a Bible and told me to read Romans. I later became a Minister. I couldn’t get it right because I couldn’t get past my addiction and my own self-interests. How could this be? I am a Minister. Who does the man of God go to when he is failing? The answer is clearly God. I became convinced that my testimony may help some other Ministers who struggle with the same things I did. Like me, they may be waiting on God and hoping He hears them, too!

“One day I accepted that even Preachers can fail. I wasn’t doing anything constructive with my life at that time. I decided to trust God. I didn’t know if He would do it, but I prayed anyway. I soon believed that if I asked God for faith, and told people the truth, God was going to change me. Today, I am a Minister in good standing in a church in Orange County, CA and the CEO of a nonprofit called A Touch of Love Works. When you read A Preacher’s Confession, you’ll meet a man who now clearly understands that it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. I am finishing by telling the truth.

“This is my story. To God be the glory.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Thomas Chesley’s new book is an honest examination of the author’s most personal moments.

Chesley shares in hopes of encouraging others that are faced with similar temptations to hold fast to God’s grace.

Six Questions for All Christians to Answer and Deepen Their Biblical Faith” is a powerful discourse

News Image

“Christian Life in Satan’s World: Six Questions for All Christians to Answer and Deepen Their Biblical Faith”: a potent call to spiritual arms that pushes one to examine and strengthen their faith. “Christian Life in Satan’s World: Six Questions for All Christians to Answer and Deepen Their Biblical Faith” is the creation of published author Emet Darash, a devoted husband and father who found a deeper relationship with God at thirty-three years of age after leaving the Catholic church.

Darash shares, “We all make decisions every day. We choose what we wear to work and what to make for dinner, along with thousands of other minor choices each day. Most decisions don’t even register in our minds as we live our lives.

“Decisions can be small, but other decisions will change the course of our life. Each day we decide to accept or reject the love of God. We choose to sin. We choose to avoid sin. Our choices directly affect our children and families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.

“Being a Christian is a choice. We can choose to accept the blessings from our creator or we can ignore them and blindly accept what this world offers us. Our government is removing God from our society. Our schools teach our children God is a fairytale. The literal truth of the Bible is being attacked by modern-day science in an effort to destroy the greatest love story ever told. As God is being systematically removed from our communities, our country is falling apart in every way.

“If you are not yet a Christian, this book can help you logically and scientifically realize there is no possibility of our existence without a loving God. If you are already a Christian, you will be challenged on the depth of your faith in an effort to help you trust every word in the Bible is true and accurate. Be ready for controversial issues to be addressed with biblical principles and for the discovery of how deep your faith can take you in realizing God’s amazing and perfect love for us.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Emet Darash’s new book is an engaging opportunity for a revitalization or discovery of one’s faith.

Darash welcomes readers to a moment of self-evaluation and spiritual growth within the pages of this articulate work.

Consumers can purchase “Christian Life in Satan’s World: Six Questions for All Christians to Answer and Deepen Their Biblical Faith” at traditional brick & mortar bookstores, or online at Amazon.com, Apple iTunes store, or Barnes and Noble.

One woman experienced physical and spiritual death to better understand the real value and purpose of her life

News Image

Jesus Christ is the Almighty, and He has a purpose for our lives. He is the only one who knows what is best for us because He created all of us with a purpose.

“I believed in a different god before. I also prayed to different virgins and saints as well, but I did not obtain any results. One day, I found myself at a dead end with the only living God, Jesus Christ, showing me His mighty resurrection power when I lost my life in a hospital bed. It inspired me to write this book,” Authoress Adriana Brunga states.

“Death Saved by Jesus Christ” (published by AuthorHouse) shares the story of a 3-year-old girl who created her own shelf of protection in her mind and who found peace, love, joy, faith, and a wonderful God in the Bible. This little girl is now 42 years old, but due to a traumatic event, she ended up with a mysterious mental illness called conversion disorder (a post-traumatic stress disorder).

This mysterious mental illness caused the little girl’s brain to make mindless involuntary movements in her body, creating an automatic brain regression, and making her speak and act like a 3-year-old. When that would happen, she automatically would go into her perfect hiding place inside her imaginary empty room, allowing her mind to feel protected and loved by God. After coming back from a coma and death, she found the most interesting complement to and purpose in life. Jesus Christ blessed her directly from heaven.

“I experienced spiritual death for 32 years until Jesus Christ came to rescue me and saved my life. Furthermore, I had to experience physical death and come back to life to utterly understand the real value and purpose of my life,” Brunga says. “Jesus Christ is the Almighty, and He has a purpose for our lives. He is the only one who knows what is best for us because He created all of us with a purpose.”

“Death Saved by Jesus Christ” explains to readers how powerful and merciful Jesus Christ has been. This book is based on a true story that will touch their hearts and miraculously change the way they see God. This will help them to realize that only God can give them the strength and courage they need to walk through the storm. Beautifully Illustrated Children’s Book Celebrates Diversity With a Creative Lesson for Young Readers

News Image

“When my sons were very young, I taught them how God created people using His crayon box and even though someone may look or sound different, we were all created equally by Him,” said Scotto.

When God created the Earth, He made it beautiful until He realized something was missing: people. In author Mickey Scotto’s debut children’s book, “God’s Big Crayon Box: We are all so much more alike than we are different!” the author pulls from lessons she taught her own sons about God creating humans and how He used His big box of crayons to color people, animals and the world using different colors. “God’s Big Crayon Box” highlights diversity while keeping the lesson at the most simplistic level for even very young readers to understand.

Throughout the colorful pages, the author shows readers how God used His big box of crayons to create humans and used colors such as white, black, brown and more. He also used different colors for their eyes and used all the other crayons in His box for nature, the animals and insects. God’s people spoke different languages and came from different places on the earth, but He loved them all the same. The author emphasizes how God was pleased with the uniqueness He created, making people of different colors and shapes, each special in their own way.

“When my sons were very young, I taught them how God created people using His crayon box and even though someone may look or sound different, we were all created equally by Him,” said Scotto. “This continued to serve as a basis in their life for treating everyone equally and understanding God created us all as humans. I wanted to share this important lesson with other children.”

Ultimately, “God’s Big Crayon Box” brings joy to readers by showing them the fun God had creating the world with different colors and how much He loves all the differences in His creations. The lesson presented throughout encourages a creative and fundamental way to educate children about diversity.

Making the Season Bright for Family Caregivers

News Image

‘Tis the season for joy and celebration, particularly this year as many of us look to once again reunite with friends and family. The holidays are a time to express gratitude for those in our lives, and family caregivers are an important group to recognize and celebrate. These individuals give so much of themselves every day to ensure their loved ones are cared for and supported. And while they serve in a role that calls for putting the needs of others before their own, the holiday season offers an opportunity to let them know you are thinking of them and appreciate the remarkable work they do.

You likely know someone who serves in this important role, whether a family member, someone at work or in the community. In fact, according to AARP, an estimated 53 million Americans are providing unpaid care for relatives and friends – 61% of whom also juggle outside employment. Furthermore, family caregivers provide an average of 23.7 hours of care each week. This number goes up substantially for those whose care recipients live with them (37.4 hours per week), making caregiving the equivalent to a full-time job.

“Many caregivers find reward in helping their loved ones, doing so with compassion and joy. But caregiving is an extremely demanding role,” said Lakelyn Hogan, Ph.D., gerontologist and caregiver advocate at Home Instead. “While every day is an opportunity to celebrate them, the holidays are a great reminder to recognize their hard work by showing them support and appreciation in return.”

Many caregivers aren’t looking for big, expensive gifts. They are generous givers – of their time, energy and love – which is what makes their role all the more meaningful. A small gift or act of kindness can go a long way in making a caregiver feel appreciated.

To learn more about how we can give back to those who are constantly giving to others, Home Instead polled family caregivers on what they hoped to receive during the holidays this year; appreciation and time off topped the list for many. As you prepare for the holidays, consider some of the following gift ideas for the caregivers in your life:

  • Recognition. The pressures of caregiving can leave many feeling stressed out and underappreciated. Small gifts like handwritten cards from family members, friends or care recipients can go a long way in showing caregivers you are thankful for all that they do. Couple this with a fresh bouquet of flowers to truly brighten their day.
  • Your Time. Give the gift of time and support by offering to help with caregiving tasks, whether for an afternoon or a few days. This gives caregivers a moment to rest, recharge and focus on their own health – because when a caregiver’s needs are met, the care recipient will benefit as well. If you are unable to provide assistance, consider seeking out the temporary support of a professional caregiver. A more formal arrangement such as respite care can be a solution to helping caregivers get a much-needed break.
  • Gift cards and subscription services. Treat a caregiver to the things they enjoy with a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant, store, coffee shop or spa. Paying for meal delivery services or a streaming platform can also offer caregivers a chance to wind down and practice self-care.
  • Acts of service. Sometimes the act of lending a helping hand is the best gift. Whether it’s loading up the fridge with home-cooked meals or offering to clean up around the house or yard, small acts of service can be a huge help in making caregivers’ lives easier and manageable.

As you plan your holiday shopping this season, remember to include caregivers on your list. Celebrating family caregivers and offering support is something you can do now and year-round to make a meaningful impact. And don’t forget the seniors in your life – a thoughtful gift can make this holiday season even more special for our older loved ones.
