Author Jack Short’s new book “KHOF-FM” is a stirring memoir recounting the author’s time spent working at a historic Christian radio station in Southern California

News Image

Jack Short, who studied electrical engineering at California Polytechnic Institute and served in the military as a part of the Signal Corps, has completed his new book “KHOF-FM”: a captivating and moving autobiographical account of what it was like working at a Christian radio station during a time when such a thing was merely an idea, and the various people and situations experienced by the author and others while working there.

“In this modern day and age, listening to FM radio is a common experience, and at most everyone has an FM radio or tuner and listens frequently,” writes Short. “This was not always the case, and there was a time when this experience was an unheard-of experience. Everything has to start somewhere and for Southern California, and in fact, everywhere west of the Mississippi River, KHOF-FM was that start, and this is what this story is about.

“The following stories are about the miracles I had the privilege of knowing about but more importantly being a part of in my life. I was not there at the start, but I will relate incidents as I was told or read about and remember them.”

Published by Page Publishing, Jack Short’s personal stories will transport readers back in time as Christian radio stations were just becoming mainstream and reveal what goes into creating such a broadcast. Full of wit and the perfect amount of humor, Short weaves a riveting narrative of the hard work each and every member of the team put in to spread God’s message to a broader audience every day.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “KHOF-FM” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Imagine What Would Happen If We Held Memories In Our Hearts, Rather Than Our Minds

News Image

From the time we take our first breath, our minds start creating memories. Every memory etches itself in our hearts; they make us who we are. If we can connect memories with Scriptures, think how different our lives would be

Author Jerilyn Pallesi Von Flue continues to share her unique perspective on Scripture memorization in Make a Memory Every Day, Volume 2: God’s Word Will Change Your Heart ($13.99, paperback, 9781662862359; $5.99, e-book, 9781662862366).

Von Flue has long had a process of memorizing Bible verses wherein she connects each Scripture with a memory from her own experience, allowing her to recall it more easily. In this volume, she focuses specifically on issues of the heart.

“From the time we take our first breath, our minds start creating memories. Every memory etches itself in our hearts; they make us who we are. If we can connect memories with Scriptures, think how different our lives would be,” said Von Flue.

Jerilyn Pallesi Von Flue is a central California native with a background in sales. She owned her own retail business for 10 years and has spent the past 17 years as a manager/realtor with Century 21. Von Flue enjoys spending time in nature and sharing cooking clips on her Facebook page. When she is asked what her biggest accomplishment in life is, she would tell you this, “Loving God, Family and All of her Wonderful Friends, and Praying for them Daily.”

Bethlehem’s Franciscan Boys Home Celebrates 15th Anniversary

“HOME is a reality which resonates deeply in every human being. It is intimately associated with everything we understand about FAMILY. Together this brings us the heart of our existence. These truths remind us that we belong to one another.”

We are currently scheduling email interviews with Fr. Peter F. Vasko, OFM, President of FFHL who will speak about how Bethlehem’s Franciscan Boys Home has become a pillar of hope and promise to so many Christian youth facing struggles in the community. The Franciscan Boys Home recently celebrated its 15th Anniversary of operations in September.

In a fragile land where social and political upheavals are prevalent, the nuclear family is often impacted. The Bethlehem Boys’ Home is one of many social services run through the Custody. The Home was founded in 2007 as an affiliate to Terra Sancta College and strives to open a new window of hope and a lifeline to a brighter future.

As a Franciscan friar who has lived and ministered in Israel for nearly 40 years, Fr. Peter would welcome an opportunity to share how Bethlehem’s Franciscan Boys Home has been a caring sanctuary for children and youth ages 6 to 18 from families in need to give them an education and a future. If you have an interest in speaking with him, please let me know.

“Smoking Gun” Reveals Roman Conspiracy to Invent Christianity as Shown in New Film

“that was a very surprising thing… like a smoking gun, so I have to take that seriously.”

The latest evidence supporting the Roman creation of the Christian religion – the largest and most influential religion affecting our society today – is revealed in the new documentary “Creating Christ”, in which forensics expert James S. Valliant and his co-author Warren Fahy recreate the backstory of how Christianity began and developed, based on their discovery of archaeological artifacts that prove a link between Roman Emperors and the first Christians.

Based on Valliant and Fahy’s “Creating Christ” book, the documentary also features former Baptist minister and revered Bible scholar Dr. Robert Price who stated this discovery “was a very surprising thing… like a smoking gun, so I have to take that seriously.” The discovery is of a unique symbol never before used by a Roman ruler, that was used thousands of times on the coins minted by Roman emperor Titus Flavius, and was the Flavian family’s house trademark. At the same time, this symbol began to be used by the earliest Christians as a symbol of Christianity, and it turns out that many of the earliest Christians – including one of the first popes and the owner of the first Christian catacombs – were related to the Flavian royal family. In general, Dr. Price found the two authors’ work “beguilingly cogent.”

The film goes on to explore the work of St. Paul in establishing a language for Christianity and his motivation to transform the religion of the Jews into a peaceful religion that could more easily assimilate into the diverse pagan Roman Empire. Dead Sea Scrolls expert Professor Robert Eisenman establishes the true messianic Jewish movement that the Romans were attempting to convert, which is vastly different from the Gospel depiction of Judea at the time. And late author and mythicist D.M. Murdock (aka Acharya Sanning) provides the pagan origins of the Gospel stories. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video & other streaming channels.

The “Creating Christ” documentary is presented by Nlightning artZ, whose team also created a previous documentary showing Roman authorship of the New Testament from a different angle, “Caesar’s Messiah,” which has over 5 million views around the world and is available in several languages. The team has been credited with creating the meme on the Internet that Jesus was not a historical figure, although they say they didn’t create the meme – they simply shined a big spotlight on it. More information, a trailer, press kit, and images from the film are available at CreatingChristDoc.com.

A Book Of Poetry” is an engaging collection of personal poetry that motivates and inspires

“Disguised Blessings: A Book Of Poetry”: an enjoyable selection of poetry. “Disguised Blessings: A Book Of Poetry” is the creation of published author Orpha Ale Mineque, a registered nurse who worked for one of the Veteran Affairs(VA) Medical Centers in Florida where she worked until February 2022. She has spent her nursing career in the intensive care unit since she graduated from the Philippine Union College, in Silang, Cavite, Philippines, in 1985, which is now the Adventist University of the Philippines. Mineque migrated to the United States in April 1987 and took a job in the step-down surgical intensive care unit at Detroit Receiving Hospital and Trauma Center in Detroit, Michigan, until November 1988. She joined her family in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and started working at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in 1988 until 2000. She later relocated to Palo Alto in February 2022 where she currently works. In November 2000, Mineque became the co-owner and administrator for Duey’s Place Assisted Living Facility, a six-bed long-term-care facility that she and her husband, Napoleon Duey, operated together.

Mineque shares, “Disguised Blessings is a book of poetry. This is a compilation of poems that I wrote for about a year when the COVID-9 pandemic started in 2020.

“The poems will take your imagination to stories of my personal life, friends, and families. They were the people who inspired me and played vital roles in my life. It will also take you back to my youth and the island I grew up in. In my poems I also shared stories of how wonderful it is to love, be loved, and the hurtful experience of being rejected.

“A lot of the poetry I wrote were inspired by nature and its beauty that surrounds me. I saw God’s glory through His creation and heard His voice and felt His presence.

“Disguised Blessings are my unexpected gifts that I personally received amid the pandemic. Being a registered nurse working in the frontline is unnerving. God had protected and shielded me from COVID-19 so I could continue serving in His ministry of healing.

“God had blessed me with talents that I was able to use when I most needed them to keep myself above all chaos from the pandemic. I was able to do many projects to maintain a healthy mind and spirit. Best of all, He endowed me with special and beautiful thoughts that flowed into rhythmic words of poetry.

“I’m inviting you to emerge into the pages of this book and be inspired!”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Orpha Ale Mineque’s new book will entertain and encourage as readers reflect on the carefully designed verses within.

Mineque shares in celebration of life’s peaks and valleys as she recounts key moments within her life through her expressive poetic works.

Volume 4” is a powerful testimony of faith and the real world

News Image

“Heaven Is Closer Than You Think: Love Letters to the World: Volume 4”: an uplifting message of God’s promise. “Heaven Is Closer Than You Think: Love Letters to the World: Volume 4” is the creation of published author Fred Blom.

Blom shares, “this is a testimony of real life, not games or movies. The majority of the people in the world don’t believe in the one and only God. Then there are fewer who believe in Jesus Christ. Of that group, how many drift in and out of this commitment? How many worship with their lips, but not their hearts? My parents and relatives fell into the group of ‘there is no God, just nature and the natural renewal of its cycle.’ For me, curiosity was the thing. I had to know the beginning and end of everything step-by-step. It’s the way I am built! I want every breath and every step I take to take me closer to Jesus Christ. Walk with me, and we will see how close heaven really is to us. Run away with me, and I bet we will run right into the hand of God. I have done it a couple of times! I want you to come with me! Please, it’s important!

“Why write this testimony of life? Did I say, ‘Please, come along with me’? Well, we all have the happy and sad, the hard and easy, and the close to God, whether we are aware of it or not, and the far from God, which we do not understand. Just a few weeks ago, I asked my Father in heaven if I should continue to write the first testimonials each month or perhaps even reveal the deep things that have helped me through life. In the process and time of seven days, I was shown how the hidden secrets of heaven work. To me, it’s funny, serious, and truthful—this simple thing connecting so many things together that have occurred in my life.

“I work on my testimonial stories at night. It was the hand of God that led me to do that, no doubt, and you will learn that a little later. There are always more people to give them to than I can accomplish.

“‘Maybe I should put them in a book for everyone, Father. I don’t have the time or know-how…’ I felt something like a tap on the back of my head when I prayed that. I slapped my hand over my mouth, trying to take it back; at the same time, I looked behind myself to see if something had fallen off the wall. I stopped praying, took a big sigh, and went to sleep. Why did I say ‘too busy’? I wrestled all night with ‘The secrets of heaven are my Lord Jesus Christ’s, but that which he gives us are ours.’

“For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. (Luke 12:2)

“I was referred to recently as the little lion that would not roar and the lost generation. Then a voice stood up for me and said, ‘No, this is the one who walks the dusty road.’

“I wanted to respond, but I fell to the ground in weakness because of the awesomeness around me. I was shown the loss of mankind and told to go forth with the testimony I was given. I cry and pray with great supplication before the heavenly throne of our savior, Jesus Christ. I don’t want anyone to be lost!

“Love in Christ,

Fred”

Elouise H. Hults’s newly released “Ordinary Reflections from Here, There, and God’s Word” is an uplifting devotional that will encourage all year long

News Image

“Ordinary Reflections from Here, There, and God’s Word”: an encouraging arrangement of thoughtful devotions. “Ordinary Reflections from Here, There, and God’s Word” is the creation of published author Elouise H. Hults, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Hults shares, “In our daily routine, God often places responses and directions for us in ways we believe provide needed answers for whatever that is or will be there for us to deal with. Those very words heard or read are often from something or someone nearby, during our personal and regular activities or situation, sharing needed encouragement, direction, or some type of help for any future issue that may arrive. And yes, of course, God does provide answers with direction or loving blessings specifically for us straight from His Word.

“Take time in each daily reading of Ordinary Reflections from Here, There, and God’s Word to reflect on them. Each one comes from the basic and ordinariness that’s all around us, or even straight from one’s own life, as well as from the Bible. This book includes a scripture verse beginning each day’s reading and then concludes with a brief prayer. Do be blessed as you read, meditate, and receive what the Lord has for you.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Elouise H. Hults’s new book will engage the spirit and inspire the soul as readers ruminate with God’s word.

Hults shares in hopes of helping others live fulfilled lives through careful study and appreciation of all God has to offer.

The Extradimensional Madness of the Prophets” is a compelling discussion of the modern American church

News Image

“Puppies and Napalm: The Extradimensional Madness of the Prophets”: a spiritual call to arms that offers a reminder of God’s true intentions for creation. “Puppies and Napalm: The Extradimensional Madness of the Prophets” is the creation of published author Jason Malott.

Malott shares, “Long ago, prophets spoke the word of God to the people. These prophets were full of zeal and sometimes madness. God got as creative as he could with this eccentric bunch. He had some of them lay on their side in the mud for days; some of them he showed visions of alien spacecrafts and creatures with eyes all over their body. Their words crossed other dimensions and predicted future events.

“He spoke through them to a nation that had lost its way.

“Just a little like us today. Can I get an amen?

“This book is written to the church of America, the lost, shinning beacon of hope, the great imperialist empire once called a “Christian nation” that never was.

“This book is to everyone who feels like something is wrong. Something is very, very wrong with us. This book is for those who are tired of a group of people trying to scare us into believing in a god that wants to burn us. What else should I call it?

“Puppies and Napalm.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Jason Malott’s new book brings an encouraging message of hope to followers of Christ.

Malott takes aim at the challenges facing the church through the fear-based teachings of a vengeful God in a manner that will resonate with many.
