“The Churches of Revelation: Exploring the Revelation of Jesus Christ in modern times”: a stirring book that dissects the real essence of the verses written within its pages. When one talks about the Revelation, most tend to shun its contents, as different interpretations are being spread, leaving a horrendous image about this fascinating narrative. This printed work aims to educate that the Revelation is not a day to be frightened of, but a day to praise, for it is a completion of God’s promise to His children. “The Churches of Revelation: Exploring the Revelation of Jesus Christ in modern times” is the creation of published author Dr. David Bernhard Bowers, a writer of both fiction and non-fiction centering on Biblical anecdotes and commentary. He has BS, MA, and Doctorate degrees under his name, and is currently living with his amazing wife on a Midwestern wildlife farm.

Dr. Bowers shares, “Every student of the Bible approaches the book of Revelation with a sense of awe as they attempt to fold the greatness of God within the mind of humanity. Many rush to examine the significant prophecies without adequately dealing with the introductory chapters. Exploring the beginning chapters of the Revelation of Jesus Christ with a modern application, Dr. David B. Bowers examines the initial communique given by our Lord to the Apostle John. The churches of Revelation within reflect not only the status of the true Christian church throughout history but also reveal significant elements of the church in modern times that must not be missed.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Dr. David Bernhard Bowers’s new book is an astonishing work written to evangelize the reality found in the script of the book of Revelation—the Biblical piece that non-believers see as the awful ending of the human race, when in fact, the Revelation is an opus of mercy to those who follow the Lord.

Self-improvement book encourages people to thrive and align with one another and the source that created them

News Image

We live in a society where the majority of our global population is not aware of the power we hold within us.

Jason T. Beck wanted to educate others on how God, the Universe, Life, Source of Creation, Divine Mind, Mother Nature, Unified Field, Creator, Infinite Intelligence, Source Energy and Consciousness are all the same, only different by their label. It is for this reason he has written “If the World Only Knew: It’s Time to Wake Up and Heal” (published by Balboa Press).

This book teaches readers the true meaning and fundamentals behind the phrases such as “You get what you give, it’s karma, out of the blue, what goes around comes around” and so on as he shares the universal intelligence that co-creates, guides, and governs humanity’s reality and existence. Focusing on truth, Beck discusses the truth about who humanity really are as a people in relation to each other and the world in which they live. Here, he shows how when people align with this one Life Force, God, or Unified Field of Intention, everything changes. They can heal individually and collectively by understanding who they really are in the simplest forms. They can thrive in harmony and live a life of purpose and meaning by relinquishing the conflicting egos they have been conditioned for many years.

“We live in a society where the majority of our global population is not aware of the power we hold within us. We are all one, with no separation from anything or anyone, in one energy field called God, the Universe, or one of the other labels,” Beck points out. “This book will inspire love, harmony, joy, fulfillment, benevolence, and purpose in personal lives, society and cultures.”

When asked what he wants readers to take away from this book, Beck answers, “To remind them that we are all here to thrive, not survive, and all we need to do is align with one another and the source that created us. Joy, abundance, love, and harmony are at the center of who we really are. When this concept of oneness is understood and applied intentionally, we are exposed to a whole new world of possibility, individually and collectively.” For more details about this book, please visit https://www.balboapress.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/813935-if-the-world-only-knew

Episcopal Relief & Development Supports Episcopal Diocese of West Texas’ Humanitarian Response in Border Communities

News Image

“It is inspirational to see the ways that partners like the Diocese of West Texas are addressing this complex humanitarian crisis by building coalitions of support from volunteer translators to governmental and non-governmental agencies,” said Tamara Plummer, Episcopal Relief & Development.

Episcopal Relief & Development is supporting the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas as it provides COVID-safe humanitarian assistance, such as transportation, food and medical care, to people seeking asylum in south Texas.

“It is inspirational to see the ways that partners like the Diocese of West Texas are addressing this complex humanitarian crisis by building coalitions of support from volunteer translators to governmental and non-governmental agencies,” said Tamara Plummer, Program Officer, US Disaster Program at Episcopal Relief & Development. “By utilizing strong safety protocols, the migration ministry is able to continue and our baptismal covenant is put into practice.”

The Immigration Ministries of the Diocese of West Texas (IM DWTX) works with individuals and families seeking asylum at the US border. As part of the Interfaith Welcome Coalition in San Antonio, diocesan volunteers and staff greet travelers and provide transportation to assist them on the journey to their sponsor. Using the Episcopal Asset Map, a tool created by The Episcopal Church and Episcopal Relief & Development, Flor Saldivar, Coordinator for Immigration and Refugee Ministries for IM DWTX, is coordinating transportation routes by identifying which congregations would be able to provide assistance.

In addition to transportation, the diocese is providing translation services, medical care, food, hygiene items and baby and maternity supplies to individuals and families in need. IM DWTX and other local organizations are collaborating with local and federal governments to make the COVID-19 vaccine readily available to migrants who choose to take it. Volunteers and staff follow strict COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as wearing masks and limiting the number of unrelated people who can ride together.

“The more information congregations share on the Episcopal Asset Map about their gifts, the easier it is for disaster response coordinators to mobilize resources to respond to human need and the work being done at the border is a perfect example,” continued Plummer.

Please consider a donation to Episcopal Relief & Development’s US Disaster Response Fund to support the organization’s continued assistance to vulnerable communities impacted by disasters, both natural and human-made.

ABOUT EPISCOPAL RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT:

For 80 years, Episcopal Relief & Development has been working together with supporters and partners for lasting change around the world. Each year the organization facilitates healthier, more fulfilling lives for more than 3 million people struggling with hunger, poverty, disaster and disease. Inspired by Jesus’ words in Matthew 25, Episcopal Relief & Development leverages the expertise and resources of Anglican and other partners to deliver measurable and sustainable change in three signature program areas: Women, Children and Climate.

Freed-Hardeman University Professor Named Executive Director of French African Christian Education (F.A.C.E.)

Dr. Richard England

It’s a great honor to have been selected as executive director for French African Christian Education. My wife and I, as well as other members of our family, have been blessed to make several short-term mission trips to various countries.

French African Christian Education (F.A.C.E.) has announced the hiring of Dr. Richard England, Henderson, Tennessee, as its new executive director. For the past 26 years, he and his wife, Dr. Barbara England, have been members of the Freed-Hardeman University faculty. He will retire from his work as professor of education and music at the end of the current semester. She is a professor of art at FHU.

Before joining the FHU faculty, Richard worked in education in various capacities, including teacher and school administrator and at the state department level in higher education. He has served congregations for more than 45 years as Bible class teacher, minister, deacon and elder. The Englands have done short-term mission work in several countries, including Haiti, Scotland, Belgium, Poland and the Republic of Mauritius.

Richard and Barbara are Freed-Hardeman University alumni. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Union University, a Master of Music from Memphis State University and a Doctor of Education, also from Memphis State University. He has done post-doctoral studies at Austin Peay State University, University of Memphis and Berklee College of Music, as well as continuing education studies at Oxford University.

“It’s a great honor to have been selected as executive director for French African Christian Education. My wife and I, as well as other members of our family, have been blessed to make several short-term mission trips to various countries,” England said. “We view this as an opportunity to continue our work with the church throughout the world.”

F.A.C.E., whose motto is “French Africans Evangelizing French Africa,” has operated the Bible Training Center (BTC) in Zinvie, Benin, since 1995. Currently, 29 students are enrolled in the three-year regional school of preaching. A total of 177 have graduated since its inception.

England expects to visit with existing and potential supporters of F.A.C.E. and travel to Benin, as restrictions are lifted and international travel becomes more possible. “Perhaps the most exciting but greatest challenge of my work will be the move toward accrediting the Bible Training Center as a university. The initial efforts have started to move through the accreditation process, which will be a three- to five-year project,” England said. “When achieved, the graduates will have a higher-level credential, leading to more missionaries of the gospel in Africa from Africa who understand the culture, customs and language and who are at a higher level of self-sufficiency.”

French speaking countries in Africa include: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo Brazzaville, Congo Kinshasa, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea (konakry), Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Togo and Tunisia. Students from 11 of these countries have graduated from the Bible Training Center.

Now fifty years after my dad was in the Navy, he tells his story. It’s not in the order of how it was in WWII, but you have to remember it was fifty years ago. He told me, ‘You had to be stupid not to be scared.’ Every man was fighting to survive. It was the most decorated battleship in WWII.”

Michael J. Rickert’s newly released “Happy to Be Content” is a brilliant novel that portrays one man’s struggle to find purpose, passion, and peace.

News Image

“Happy to Be Content: A Cross-Cultural Journey of Faith Seeking Purpose, Passion, and Peace”: a poignant read that explores several themes, including human suffering, faith, and finding life’s purpose, through the author’s life experiences and philosophical and religious beliefs. “Happy to Be Content: A Cross-Cultural Journey of Faith Seeking Purpose, Passion, and Peace” is the creation of published author Michael J. Rickert, a seminarian who is studying for his master’s degree in theology.

Rickert shares, “The author’s personal narrative addresses a truth which many people would rather ignore: the crisis of our time is a hunger for purpose and meaning. Self-help methods, worldly desires, and materialistic goals did little to satisfy his soul. Something important was missing. After years of spiritual wandering the frustration and futility of it all finally put Michael on a new course. Only after admitting he needed a drastic change in life would deeper insight be revealed. And so began a steadfast search for greater spiritual blessings. Through comparisons of various religious claims and exploration of many other subjects and disciplines, an open-minded zeal for understanding was balanced with hope and prayer.

“Answers to life’s most serious and enduring questions can be elusive. And the process of transformation rarely affords shortcuts or conveniences. Yet Michael’s life had seldom been easy. Raised in a hostile environment of alcoholism and domestic violence his teenage years were marked by rebellion, excess, and frequent fighting. As a young adult, he tried to find his way by singing in a rock band and training in martial arts. The next twenty years would be a path filled with twists and turns and tragedy as required for shaping the sincerity of his heart. But a battle of conflicting forces never ends—until one side surrenders.

“Happy to Be Content pulls no punches. It is sometimes blunt and always honest. The pages vividly portray one man’s very real, human struggle in mistakenly thinking peace could be found in prosperity. Although the tribulations helped reveal the errors of his old ways; there were new questions. Should he return to the church of his youth? Or could something like Zen-meditation, psychology, New Age Spirituality, or Buddhism help show the way?

“What emerged was a well-reasoned and inspirational guidebook. This exposition of love, hope, and meaning is sprinkled with shades of humor while maintaining philosophical clarity and a firm foundation in theology. Flowing with rhythm and style, the pages travel along the road where human need and desire encounter divine truth and God’s grace. All those sincerely seeking purpose, passion, and peace may likely behold an eternal treasure.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Michael J. Rickert’s new book is a provocative and profound story that takes readers on a deep dive into one man’s struggle to find purpose, passion, and peace.
