How will faith in God save a woman’s second chance at love when she is tested by ‘A Major Hurdle’

News Image

Being the optimist that she is, Patricia Sims believes in romance and in positive outcomes regardless of the difficulties a person may encounter. This, partnered with her overactive imagination and passion for writing, became her fuel to create her first published book, “A Major Hurdle” (published by AuthorHouse).

Sims’ book is a thriller-romance fiction that introduces readers to Catherine Adams, a mother of three who has struggled with grief and is given a second chance at love. She meets new love through the character of Philip Cagney, but is hurdled by doubt and fear after the negative, unfortunate occurrences the day after meeting him. Catherine and Philip are faced with mysterious circumstances that threaten to destroy them.

How will God — and their faith upon him — help them withstand and overcome their trials? Will Catherine be able to accept and enjoy this second chance at love? For more details on the book, please visit https://www.authorhouse.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/808178-a-major-hurdle.

“The book is a roller coaster of emotions that will touch your heart and remind all of us that love finds a way,” Sims describes. “[It is] a must read for anyone who has lost faith in love and maybe have lost faith in God.” Through “A Major Hurdle,” she hopes to remind readers that God’s love is more powerful than anything and that faith can help them overcome their struggles and trials in life.

A passage in the book reads:

Two days after returning home, she received a letter from Philip. Nervously, she tore open the envelope and with a little cry of anguish, dropped it to the floor. It was over. The very thing she had feared had finally happened. She had blown all chances with him because she was too stupid to recognize a good thing, too mixed up in the head to reach for this one last chance she had been offered. Now it was over and her life felt like it was also over.

King Scott of the Rizzuto Show Can’t Wait to Lose His Virginity

King Scott Answering a Q&A During the Rizz Show Live

King Scott at Rizz Show Live 2019

Popular radio personality King Scott of the #1 morning talk radio show in St. Louis, the Rizzuto Show, has been waiting 38 years to lose his virginity. Radio listeners know him as the virgin associate-producer who has finally found his perfect match.

His virginity was actually a “guest” on the show as his colleagues helped coach and guide the innocent King on his way to his wedding night. The buildup has been so great that the Rizzuto Show hosted a giant bachelor party with 7 different stops across St. Louis, culminating at concert venue Pop’s followed by the final stop at The Last Hotel to launch him in style into the world of marriage.

His wedding day is scheduled for March 28, right in the middle of unprecedented quarantines and mandatory social distancing. But King Scott and his bride Allison aren’t letting a quarantine get in the way of this highly anticipated marriage. After debating whether or not to cancel, they have decided to go ahead with their guest list – virtually.

They’ve posted their updated invitation online: “You’re invited to watch the Royal quarantine wedding of Allison & King Scott. To protect your health and to honor the necessary safety measures, we are now live streaming our wedding instead of meeting in person. Be our virtual guest by tuning in to @kingscottrules on Facebook or Instagram Saturday, March 28 @ 3 PM.”

And they’ve invited all their guests to still dress up with them: “Join in on the wedding fun! Wear your formal attire at home and share photos with the hashtag #ROYALQUARANTINEWEDDING.”

Dr. Robert W. Bosworth, Jr., SSC, is a retired Episcopal priest and licensed clinical pastoral counselor currently serving on a volunteer basis as a counselor in private practice at St. John’s Anglican Church in Texas, where he lives with Bettie, his wife of over thirty years. He has published his latest book “Living Your ‘Happily Ever After’”: an illuminating, biblically inspired compendium of insight gleaned over a three-decade-long career listening to the problems, misunderstandings, and aspirations of married Christian couples.

The Rev’d Dr. Robert W. Bosworth, Jr., retired Episcopal Priest and Ph.D. Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, has over thirty years of parish, school and counseling experience. He is a member of the Nat’l Christian Counselors’ Association and the Catholic Psychotherapist Association. Check out the contents to see how this book can help readers live happily ever after!

Published by Page Publishing, Dr. Robert W. Bosworth, Jr.’s engrossing book is an invaluable resource for Christian couples seeking insight, advice, and scriptural reference in their marriage.

“We stopped at Dr. Bob’s office on the way to our divorce attorney…. and thank God we did. Last year we renewed our vows and are starting on the next 25 years!”

Gary and Dayle, Fort Worth

“My so-called life as I knew it had completely crumbled from underneath me in an instant. I was broken. I was dead inside. I was lost. I was scared. My brother took me to Dr. B. I couldn’t even drive! I didn’t want to go. I thought it would be a waste of time. That was until I had my first session, then my second, then my third. The pain and the turmoil that I was feeling was suddenly being churned and kneaded to the point where it was slowly subsiding. He gave me hope when there was none. He gave me confidence when it had dissipated. In my 36 years on this earth, I’ve never met a more wise and brilliant and caring human being. My family and I could not be where we are today if it were not because of him.”

J.W., Kentucky

“Bob gave me this book as I started visiting with him last spring. If I’d had it when I was engaged, I would have never needed it five years into our marriage! My favorite part of the book was how practical it is. He told us you don’t have to be a genius to turn your relationships around. We’re not, but we did!”

Bill, Ohio

“I thought we’d tried everything to save our family, but there’s stuff in here we never thought of that worked better and faster than we thought possible. Our marriage and family life have never been better. Even our kids have noticed that we actually love each other and enjoy family nights again!”

Jose and Maria, Dallas

20% Of Couples Feeling Unsatisfied This Valentine’s Day Consider Breaking Up

News Image

While 14.3% of participants noted they felt unsatisfied with their partner this holiday, 70% noted they did not let their partner know – this lack of communication most likely runs rampant in other areas of their relationships.

Ella Paradis, leading online retailer of sexual health and wellness products, conducted a post Valentine’s Day survey of 1,200 individuals to observe the impact this holiday sustained on their relationships. This study revealed 14.3% of participants felt unsatisfied with their partners this Valentine’s Day, and 20% of those left feeling unsatisfied either broke up or considered breaking up with their partners. While most consider Valentine’s Day a “Hallmark Holiday,” it seems the fate of couples are more dependent on it than most believe.

“If couples were left feeling unsatisfied with their partner this Valentine’s Day, there most likely is a plethora of underlying issues within their relationship, and this holiday just so happened to be the straw that broke the camel’s back,” remarked Tino Dietrich, CEO of Ella Paradis.

Dietrich’s observation seems to also be backed by findings uncovered in this study. While 14.3% of participants noted they felt unsatisfied with their partner this holiday, 70% noted they did not let their partner know. While the ins and outs of their relationships were not part of this study, one can conclude this lack of communication most likely runs rampant in other areas of their relationships.

“When it comes to communication, one of the easiest ways to start the practice of open dialogue with your partner is in the bedroom. Once you start communicating openly to your partner about your sexual needs and desires, you find it becomes much more natural and organic to discuss other issues unrelated to sex,” explained Dietrich.

One of the quickest and most effective ways to practice open dialogue in the bedroom has revealed itself as discussing vibrator usage in and out of the bedroom with your partner. In a recent study published in the journal Psychology & Sexuality researchers concluded, “women who reported using vibrators both by themselves and with their partner were more likely to agree with statements such as ‘My partner has no difficulty in talking to me about his or her sexual feelings and desires’ and ‘I seldom feel embarrassed when talking about the details of our sex life with my partner.’” This shows us partners who communicate regarding sex toy usage, find it easier to communicate about other areas of their relationship as well.

To curate open dialogue with your partner all year round and not just on special holidays, consider incorporating sex toys into your sex life with your partner. Ella Paradis provides users with a plethora of educational content and products to suit the needs of all types of couples whether straight, gay, bisexual, lesbian, queer, etc. They even sell top rated sex toys like the Womanizer Premium, We-Vibe SYNC, and Better Love collection.

Inovi Fertility Launches State-of-the-Art Fertility Lab in Central Houston Location

Inovi Fertility & Genetics Institute, a new boutique fertility clinic located in the heart of Houston, TX, will be launching a state-of-the-art laboratory in February as part of its advanced in vitro fertilization (IVF) and andrology treatment services.

“We are excited to provide the thriving, fast-growing community of Houston with the convenience and unparalleled value of an ultra-modern, on-site fertility laboratory,” said Dr. Stephan Krotz, founder of Inovi. “Our clients will benefit from being able to receive both comprehensive care and innovative lab services all under one roof.”

The Inovi Fertility & Genetics Institute, which has been open and actively seeing patients since last fall, has already distinguished itself by taking an integrative approach towards assisted reproductive techniques (ART). They provide both basic and advanced fertility care, fertility preservation treatments, and third-party reproduction services, including egg donation and surrogacy.

As a boutique clinic, Inovi also offers a full suite of complementary services, such as fertility yoga sessions, as well as access to an extensive reservoir of information and resources. “Our goal is not only to provide our patients with high-quality, advanced care but also to offer them a personalized concierge experience that will support them emotionally during their fertility journey,” Dr. Krotz stated.

Currently, many fertility clinics in the Houston area outsource their laboratory services to medical centers and satellite offices, forcing patients to spend significant time traveling to multiple locations. Not only will Inovi’s integrated laboratory provide a solution to that problem, but their central location makes them easily accessible for the entire Greater Houston metropolitan region.

Built and equipped with the latest cutting-edge technologies, the Inovi laboratories will offer a vast array of diagnostic services and procedures, including:

  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

  • Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

Internationally recognized as a progressive reproductive health and fertility expert, Dr. Krotz has a notable history of using advanced technologies and methods to treat infertility. In 2009, he created the first artificial human ovary while at Brown University – a medical achievement that was designated by Time Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Medical Breakthroughs of 2010.” Dr. Krotz, with his experience and ability as an innovator in Reproductive Medicine, and his team are focused on bringing the patient experience to a new level and advancing the delivery of fertility care in Houston and beyond.

Celebrities who have tied-the-knot on Valentine’s Day in recent years include actress Salma Hayek, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Interscope co-founder Jimmy Iovine and actor Benedict Cumberbatch, making the trend of February 14 weddings more popular than ever.

Fans of Carrie Underwood may recognize the historic Victorian Chapel at Chapel of the Flowers in her music video “Last Name” and business mogul Sir Richard Branson served as best man for a UK couple recently. Glass Gardens, Magnolia and La Capella are other unique and upscale wedding chapels at Chapel of the Flowers.

All-inclusive wedding packages are still available for Valentine’s Day and start at just $299.

“Valentine’s Day is undoubtedly the ideal day to exchange vows for the most romantic of romantics,” said Donne Kerestic, CEO at Chapel of the Flowers. “Whether it’s an intimate elopement or an elaborate Bella Eleganza wedding package for up to 88 guests, our team of on-site staff members is fully dedicated to creating a ceremony that the couple will remember forever.”

Media is invited to attend Chapel of the Flowers between 7am and 7pm on February 14 to cover weddings and vow renewal ceremonies. “Flower gifts uplift the human spirit, that won’t change.” – Mark Chatoff, Owner & President California Flower Mall

Responding to the National Retail Federation report about changing consumer attitudes towards Valentine’s Day, Mark Chatoff, owner of California Flower Mall a Downtown Los Angeles wholesale flower market says his analysis of NRF data shows fresh flower gifts and arrangements will continue to be a popular favorite, even among millennials. “Flowers gifts uplift the human spirit, that won’t change. The evolution of Valentine’s Day reflects the diversity of lifestyles today. Whether people celebrate it as a sentimental romantic tradition, a day to show love to yourself, Galentine’s Day, Palentine’s Day, or, Love and Friendship Day as it’s known in the Latino community — all reports indicate that in Southern California fresh flower gifts, plants and floral arrangements will continue to reign in the ever-expanding celebration of relationships.”

Whatever name you give it people still love the day of love. Danielle Hayes, blogger for The Shelf, a data-driven influencer marketing platform says, “Singles have ramped up their Valentine’s Day spending over the last few years as well.” She gives these fun facts about people and their love for Valentine’s Day:

  • 35 percent of non-celebrants have Valentine’s Day plans, whether it’s to treat themselves or spend time with friends and family
  • NRF data shows Galentine’s Day may really be a thing. Since 2010, expected spending on Valentine’s Day gifts for friends has nearly tripled, from $737 million to $2.1 billion
  • To date, there are more than 860k Instagram posts tagged #galentines #galentinesday #palentines #palentinesday, the hashtags commonly used to celebrate mirror holidays Galentine’s Day (for female friends) and Palentine’s Day (for any friends)
  • Whether viewed as “shoppertainment”, or a great way to celebrate love and relationships, Valentine’s Day is a day of spending and gift-giving, even among those who do not embrace the traditional “Valentine’s Day is for lovers” concept.

Engagement Ring Store Will Pay One Couple To Travel To Europe To Scout The Top 20 Most Romantic Proposal Spots – All Expenses Paid

News Image

“It’s important for Robbins Brothers to find new and unique ways to assist couples who want to create an impressive romantic milestone. We realize that the proposal location is an important factor as the photos and videos captured are memories that live forever.”

Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store, announced today that it is once again searching for one lucky couple to travel, all expenses paid, to find the most romantic proposal spots – but this time, to EUROPE.

The job description says: Have a travel bug but not much of a travel budget? No problem. Pack your bags, grab your sweetheart and get ready for the opportunity of a lifetime! Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store, is searching for one pair of love birds to send on an all-expense-paid European getaway in pursuit of the perfect proposal spots in Europe. No need to quit your day job… travels can be planned on your own schedule to ensure you can save up your PTO or use it as your honeymoon!

The hired couple can travel when they want and where they want as long as they identify 20 proposal spots in Europe and document their findings.

Robbins Brothers is a popular engagement ring store with retail shops across the western part of the country that will not only help clients find the perfect ring but will also help plan the perfect proposal. Last year, the company first launched the job search for one lucky couple to travel the six U.S. cities on weekends in search of the most romantic proposal locations, and after going through over 1,000 applications that came in during the three-week search, they selected Alex and Liana Borishkevich from Seattle, Washington to fill the job position. The Borishkevich’s successfully completed the six-month position which wrapped up in September 2019.

“It’s important for Robbins Brothers to find new and unique ways to assist couples who want to create an impressive romantic milestone. We realize that the proposal location is an important factor as the photos and videos captured are memories that live forever. We’ve received such positive feedback on the top spots that our ambassadors discovered last year,” said Chris Weakley, VP of Marketing for Robbins Brothers.

One couple will be selected to travel to Europe, but this time the job requirements are a bit different. With a $10,000 budget plus an hourly wage, the couple will be tasked with using the budget wisely and traveling for as long or short of stint as they would like – they simply need to find and document at least 20 of the most romantic proposal locations during their trek, whether it’s for three days or three weeks, and to one country or multiple European destinations.

“Ideally, our winning couple will be similar to the types of couples who shop at Robbins Brothers,” said Weakley. “That means they love beautiful things but want to find the best possible value. We look forward to seeing what this year’s winners come back with.”

To qualify, couples must be: in a serious relationship (seriously dating, engaged or married), active on social media, willing to contribute content about their experiences and of course, willing and able to travel.

Online applications will open on February 14 at 9:00 a.m. pacific time and will be accepted through February 28, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. pacific time. Couples will be asked a series of questions and will have to upload a short video explaining why they should be selected as the 2020 proposal ambassadors. Finalists will be announced on March 16 and voting will open to the public on March 23. The selected couple will be announced and hired on April 6, 2020 and will have to complete their travel sometime in 2020.
