Good Together App Launches Social Wellness Program for Employers

As social creatures’ humans require interpersonal connections in order to survive.

As people struggle with mental health and a loneliness epidemic in this time of immense social change, short, meaningful actions focused on social wellness are more important than ever. Jerry Brook, Relationship Guru and Author of Good Together: A Journey Through Relationships designed a free App that is a “Game with a Purpose” to help people build their social wellness each day in as little as 3, 5 or 7 minute increments. Users of the Good Together app can create lists for self care, career goals, relationships and more.

What used to be seen as a “work life balance” has progressed into “wellness”. Wellness is about the individual, not the place that the individual finds themself in. People don’t necessarily have a good life with which to balance work against. In recent years there has been an explosion of loneliness and feelings of disconnection in people’s personal lives.

“Your work persona is a direct product of your social persona. You can’t be something that you are not, and you cannot act one way at work and diametrically different in your social life. We as humans are incapable of turning “off” or “on” our emotions or our consciousness. Therefore, there is a great deal of you that must exist and be shared between your work and your social life,” said Author and Good Together Creator Jerry Brook.

He continued, “I created the Good Together Game app as a way to bring people together and to support their bonds. The app enhances Social Wellness by removing the stresses of building interpersonal connections. As social creatures’ humans require interpersonal connections in order to survive. I agree with John Donne that No Man is an Island. People often focus on the importance of workplace wellness. However, our social connections go well beyond the office. If companies are only practicing wellness for the bottom line, they aren’t practicing wellness at all.”

The “Good Together” app is always in the palm of your hands and is also the perfect prompt for creating deeper connections with others. It’s important to remember that connections are relationships and the first and most important relationship is the one with yourself.

The app can be used for personal empowerment by creating lists for self care, career and life goals, relationships, and more. It is a great tool for enhancing social wellness and for building meaningful connections with others one interaction at a time built day after day consistently.

When playing the game with others, users begin by adding personal and professional relationships in the app. Those relationships are then added to social circles or groups of relationships. The interactions start with four major relationship categories: Family, Friends, Work, and Intimate.

Users can then create their own social circles such as, Parents, Children, Siblings, High School Friends, Work Friends, the possibilities are endless.

Each social circle has a specific set of interactions. There are randomly selected tasks for meaningfully interacting according to the type of relationship.

Players create personal, custom, lists of interactions unique to their social circles. They can select an individual relationship, or an entire social circle.

The app randomly selects a time frame of 3, 5, or 7 minutes in duration. The app also randomly selects a player from the list of possible players and an item from the list of interactions for that social circle.

The app removes the burden of time and tasks. There is no fear of trying to decide what to do in the moment or of missing out on meaningful connections due to time constraints. The Good Together app is customizable for each user.

Similar to the experience of sorting out our dreams when millennial audiences watch poem films, they undergo the self-reflective and companion spectatorship they crave. In the age of social media, many are left feeling connected yet lonesome, especially during the pandemic. This feeling can be remedied by interior reflections which will be nourished by reading poetry or watching poem films.

By creating poem film series, we offer viewers a way to form a relationship between their dreams and the collective unconscious. This open form seeks answers from our audiences, allowing them to dive deeper into their subconscious to be in sync with their thought process. It resonates with our audiences philosophies and subsequently allows them to be happier and better individuals in this increasingly disparate and volatile society.

Strike a Pose at Newest Photo Attraction in Downtown Las Vegas

Married in Las Vegas Sign | Downtown Las Vegas | Chapel of the Flowers

Newlyweds pose in front of “Married in Fabulous Las Vegas” at Chapel of the Flowers

“Our new “Married in Las Vegas” sign is a symbol of love,” says Donne Kerestic, CEO at Chapel of the Flowers.

Las Vegas is known for its Instagram-worthy photo locations on the Strip. Iconic wedding venue, Chapel of the Flowers, has added a new destination for locals and tourists to visit with its “Married in Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.

Chapel of the Flowers is proud to be a part of the transformation of Downtown Las Vegas by adding its wedding-themed miniature version of the famous Las Vegas sign to give tourists another reason to venture past The Strat into the trendy Arts District. The stylized vintage sign was constructed as a tribute to the 5 million couples who shared their love in Las Vegas.

The structure is half of the size and width of the original “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign. It differs from the original, using the word “married” instead of “welcome,” making it a must-see destination for couples getting engaged, newlyweds, or anyone looking to celebrate love.

“Our new “Married in Las Vegas” sign is a symbol of love,” says Donne Kerestic, CEO at Chapel of the Flowers. “We hope our photo location will be a popular destination for all locals and tourists visiting Downtown Las Vegas. Whether you got married at our chapel [or not], are celebrating an anniversary, or visiting Las Vegas with your partner for the first time, we would be honored to see everyone and anyone take a photo at our sign.”

Visitors are welcome to stop by — the sign is open to the public 24-hours a day and 7-days a week at 1727 Las Vegas Blvd. (next to Chapel of the Flowers) in Downtown Las Vegas. Parking is free but limited. Though it’s not required to book a ceremony at the chapel for a photo at the sign, couples who choose to get married at Chapel of the Flowers have the convenience of taking their wedding photos at their newest photo attraction.

With the new addition to the Downtown landscape, the chapel has partnered with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and the Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce to join in the “Forever Happens Here” campaign. Chapel of the Flowers’ sign will be one of eight iconic photo locations for its #LUCKYINLOVELASVEGAS Instagram contest, starting on April 4, 2022, and running through Jan. 31, 2023.

The popular wedding chapel is no stranger to innovative ideas and contests. Known for past contests like “Get Married by Ryan Reaves” and featured on Robert Irvine’s “Dinner: Impossible,” the chapel is a staple wedding location for unforgettable wedding moments and events.

Ancient Curse Inscription Deciphered from Tablet Discovered During Archaeological Wet Sift on Mt. Ebal

Folded Lead Tablet. Photograph by Michael C. Luddeni.

These types of amulets are well known in the Hellenistic and Roman periods, but Zertal’s excavated pottery dated to the Iron Age I and Late Bronze Age, so logically the tablet derived from one of these earlier periods. Even so, our discovery of a Late Bronze Age inscription stunned me.

Today, the Associates for Biblical Research (ABR) announced the discovery of a formulaic curse recovered on a small, folded lead tablet. The defixio came to light in December 2019 when archaeologist Scott Stripling, Director of the Archaeological Studies Institute at The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas, led an ABR team to wet sift the discarded material from Adam Zertal’s excavations (1982–1989) on Mt. Ebal.

A press conference was held both virtually, as well as in person on March 24.

The ancient Hebrew inscription consists of 40 letters and is centuries older than any known Hebrew inscription from ancient Israel. Stripling formed a collaboration with four scientists from the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and two epigraphers (specialists in deciphering ancient texts): Pieter Gert van der Veen of Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz and Gershon Galil of the University of Haifa. The scientists employed advanced tomographic scans to recover the hidden text. In collaboration with Stripling, Galil and van der Veen deciphered the proto-alphabetic inscription, which reads as follows:

Cursed, cursed, cursed – cursed by the God YHW.

You will die cursed.

Cursed you will surely die.

Cursed by YHW – cursed, cursed, cursed.

According to Stripling, “These types of amulets are well known in the Hellenistic and Roman periods, but Zertal’s excavated pottery dated to the Iron Age I and Late Bronze Age, so logically the tablet derived from one of these earlier periods. Even so, our discovery of a Late Bronze Age inscription stunned me.”

Almost immediately Galil recognized the formulaic literary structure of the inscription: “From the symmetry, I could tell that it was written as a chiastic parallelism.” Reading the concealed letters proved tedious, according to van der Veen, “but each day we recovered new letters and words written in a very ancient script.”

Daniel Vavrik and his colleagues from Prague ensured the accuracy of the raw data which the team interpreted. According to Deuteronomy 27 and Joshua 8, Mt. Ebal was the mountain of the curse. Joshua 8:30 indicates that Joshua built an altar on Mt. Ebal. The defixio derived from previously excavated and discarded material from a structure Zertal believed was Joshua’s altar.

An academic, peer-reviewed article is in process and will be published later in 2022. The collaborative team consists of Scott Stripling, Gershon Galil, Ivana Kumpova, Jaroslav Valach, Pieter Gert van der Veen, Daniel Vavrik, and Michal Vopalensky.

Norman E. Lyons, Jr.’s newly released “How to Make Love Last Forever” shows readers a path for building a long and happy marriage

News Image

“How to Make Love Last Forever”: an inspiring and encouraging approach to maintaining marital bliss. “How to Make Love Last Forever” is the creation of published author Norman E. Lyons, Jr., a devoted husband and loving father who has been a pastor for over twenty-two years.

Lyons, Jr. shares, “Love a word that is so commonly used but yet so elusive and seldom found or experienced by many people. True love accomplished is something that has been worked on constantly. It takes total commitment by two people to attain and maintain a loving, happy, healthy, fulfilling relationship. To keep the passionate, fervent romance that you experienced in the beginning takes a great deal of work! The keys that I’ve found that work for me are commitment, communication, trust, honesty, and a willingness to compromise, and to value your spouse. And as the old adage goes treat others as you would like to be treated, if we would do that to one another many relationships, will be able not too only survive but thrive. I saw this type of relationship with my mother-in-law and father-in-law. They were married for seventy-two happy and blessed years before the passing of my father-in-law. It is my relationship with my wife that has inspired me to write this short but direct book. We have experienced so far forty-two years of a beautiful loving relationship and looking forward to many more, God’s will. Marriage is a beautiful institution established and blessed by God and is honorable in all.

“For more information or to book for speaking engagements and seminars, please contact me.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Norman E. Lyons, Jr.’s new book will challenge and encourage readers who seek to build healthy, satisfying relationships.

Lyons, Jr. draws from over forty years of personal experience and inspiration from loving parents and parental figures to offer wisdom and encouragement.

Consumers can purchase “How to Make Love Last Forever” at traditional brick & mortar bookstores, or online at Amazon.com, Apple iTunes store, or Barnes and Noble.
