Anna Harris marks the release of ‘A Patriots Voice: Under Democrat Rule

Published poetry book represents one woman’s true feelings and disgust about what is happening to the United States of America under Democrat rule

WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 11, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The rapid deterioration of the country’s values coupled with the censoring of American voices led Anna Harris to release “A Patriots Voice: Under Democrat Rule” (published by Balboa Press in February 2022).

This poetry collection represents Harris’ true feelings and disgust of what she considers the rapid self-inflicted decline of the United States of America under Democrat rule.

A sample of the poem “Their Mission: Fear” reads:

We will not be ruled by fear
though it seems their mission is clear

This plight we find ourselves in is
driven by evil & sin

We look to the heavens for
strength and endurance

Hoping for change and God’s reassurance

Together we stand in this difficult time
as the world watches America unwind

Stoked by hate
Fueled by fear
Feeling like the end is near

We will stand strong and weather this
storm saluting old glory
though tattered and torn

“These poems show the painful truth and we are still living it,” Harris says. When asked what she wants readers to take away from the book, she answered, “To awaken the senses of all American citizens about the reality we continue to experience and to always use their voice to speak up.” For more details about the book, please visit https://www.balboapress.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/838308-a-patriots-voice

Women We Admire is Pleased to Announce Top Women Leaders for 2023

Women We Admire is pleased to announce Top Women Leaders for 2023

NEW YORK, Sept. 7, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Women We Admire is pleased to announce Top Women Leaders for 2023. Historically women have been underrepresented in the workforce around the world, but that is starting to change.

In contrast to their male counterparts, women have witnessed a more rapid escalation in labor force participation rates. This trend can be attributed to a range of contributing factors, namely the growth of healthcare and other industries traditionally led by women, significant advancements in women’s educational attainment, and their growing presence in historically male-dominated sectors such as construction, finance, and information technology. According to data furnished by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: 75% of what’s termed as “prime-age women” (those aged 25–54) are engaged in employment, in contrast to just over 66% a decade ago. In short: there are more women working jobs than ever before.

However, it is important to bear in mind that there is still a long journey ahead of us. The list of leaders this year is particularly remarkable as it underscores the ongoing struggle of pioneering women who are dismantling obstacles and dispelling preconceived notions. These exceptional individuals have showcased remarkable innovation, tenacity, and resolve across a spectrum of traditionally male-dominated domains. Through their forward-thinking guidance, they have set new standards of leadership, driven transformative endeavors, and nurtured inclusive professional atmospheres.

Among this quarter’s awardees is Vanessa B. Beasley, the 20th President of Trinity University, who took office in July 2022, marking a historic milestone as the first woman to hold this position in the institution’s 153-year history. She is dedicated to advancing the university’s student-centered mission and vision by collaborating with an outstanding leadership team to uphold its values and aspirations. Awardee Ning Duong holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Credit Union West, where she drives the formulation of strategic initiatives to uphold the institution’s mission of promoting financial well-being and life quality for members and communities. Also awarded is Lexie Komisar who holds the position of Director and Global Head of Partner Products & Growth at Meta (formerly Facebook), overseeing the global advancement, monetization, and revenue-driven expansion of partner products spanning diverse domains such as Business Messaging, Telco, Commerce, FinTech, Core Ads, and Measurement & Signals on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of this group of Top Women Leaders of 2023. These awards provide a major platform for acknowledging the exceptional leadership of today’s women leaders, while also laying the foundation for celebrating the potential leaders of tomorrow.

Suburban Chicago-Based Latina CEO Estefania Roa Receives Awards for L.B. Hall Fireproofing; Publications recognize owner for her diversity and inclusion efforts

In August, Roa was noted for her efforts in implementing diversity and inclusion policies in her company by two other publications. She was one of 13 companies that was an honoree for the Daily Herald Suburban Business’ third annual Diversity in Business Awards. These awards recognize the Chicagoland suburban businesses that have shown exceptional commitment to promoting practices advancing diversity and inclusion in workplaces, in business leadership, and owners who support equality across all areas of diversity, including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, and religion. The publication is the leading provider of business news and information about businesses and the economy in suburban Chicago.

“The construction industry has traditionally been male-dominated and perceived as exclusionary. By actively promoting women in construction and challenging stereotypes, L.B. Hall creates a more inclusive environment,” Roa said. “Encouraging women to pursue careers in construction and providing equal opportunities can help break down barriers, inspire future generations, and pave the way for a more balanced and diverse workforce.”

The most recent honor came from Profiles in Diversity Journal which named Roa as one of 84 Women Worth Watching for in Leadership for 2023. The award celebrates women who show dedication to their careers, families, and their communities, as well as the young adults who they often mentor in their fields. The Westlake, Ohio quarterly magazine promotes and advances diversity and inclusion in the corporate, government, nonprofit, STEM, and higher education areas.

“I’m very proud to be recognized by the journal,” Roa said. “As part of promoting diversity as a business owner, it is important to align with others who have the same mission. For example, my company collaborates with local organizations to plan joint initiatives, co-host events, or engage in volunteering opportunities to address specific community needs.”

Roa is constantly involved in multiple organizations and is always ready to provide support. She believes that the first step is to engage through various communication channels and support entrepreneurship, as this inherently drives the community forward. For example, she will be present as an ambassador for women in construction on Oct. 11 and 12 at the Chicago Build Expo at McCormick Place. This event is the leading construction, design, and real estate show in the Midwest.

She is a member of the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA), various chambers of commerce, and different organizations focusing on women’s empowerment such as Professional Women in Construction (PWC) Chicago and the National Association of Women in Construction. She also oversees her nonprofit called HOLA Happy with the mission of promoting change in the lives of young Latinas. For example, it has awarded educational scholarships to more than 10 single mothers and teenagers. These scholarships have opened doors to educational resources in Mexico, Peru, and Colombia. The foundation has also formed partnerships with coaches who are always willing to provide mentoring on different topics.

Roa’s dedication to these organizations and her commitment to empowering women in various fields highlight her passion for positively impacting her community.

Mia’s Global Launch Empowers Women and Businesses Worldwide for the Future of Work

In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, the integration of AI isn’t merely a trend; it’s a pivotal transformation shaping every industry across the globe. Over the past year, there has been a fundamental shift in the economic landscape. This shift is driving the emergence of a new digital economy, which disrupts existing jobs, creating new companies, and introduces unprecedented opportunities.

Tarja Stephens shares, “At Mia, we understand and embrace the immense potential of AI. We firmly believe that the evolution of AI represents the most remarkable technological advancement in recent history.” –

According to the OECD, over a billion jobs—nearly a third of all global jobs—are poised to be reshaped by technology within the next decade. The World Economic Forum also predicts that 75% of companies anticipate adopting key technologies within the next five years. Even more intriguingly, 85% of jobs that will define our future have not even been invented yet.

“The Mia Learning Network isn’t just another e-learning platform. It’s a network where pioneering AI innovators, talent, and thought leaders from the world’s most innovative companies learn, innovate, and grow. We rarely live in times like this where AI is unlocking new economic opportunities for millions of people globally, and Mia ensures that every woman is prepared to harness them. We are creating the future of work, and our time is now.” – Janna Salokangas

Tarja and Janna recognized a pressing need to offer professionals, especially non-technical talent vulnerable to AI-driven automation, accessible AI education for upskilling. They noted that traditional learning methods and corporate training systems found it challenging to remain up-to-date, missing the agility required to quickly adapt to rapid technological changes. This led them to identify a gap between the skills the job market demands and the available AI education tailored specifically for non-technical roles and professions.

We aim to empower women from diverse backgrounds to unlock new job opportunities through innovative learning experiences,” says Tarja Stephens, co-founder of Mia.

The Mia Learning Network stands out as the world’s first future of work platform focused on AI upskilling for non-technical women talent. By offering a robust range of resources—from micro-lessons, webinars, community events to soon-to-be-launched intensive Global AI Leadership programs—Mia bridges the gaps left by traditional education systems and corporate learning initiatives.

“Mia’s guiding principles center around diversity and inclusion, championing a tech industry that amplifies a multitude of voices and perspectives to shape the future of AI. Upholding ethical standards in AI is more than an option—it’s a core commitment. This stance ensures AI’s responsible and thoughtful application for societal benefit.” states Tarja Stephens.

The decision to keep the core offerings of the Mia Learning Network free ensures all learners regardless of background, education, social status, or skills level have access to an expansive global community of like-minded women, comprehensive career development resources, and an array of micro-lessons. In addition to the free network, the company offers micro-credential upskilling programs and a subscription model.

Mia empowers women to acquire invaluable AI skills, unlock resources, and, most importantly, support each other through community, innovation and networking. “The future of AI is not just about technology, it’s about the people behind it,” remarks Janna Salokangas.

To embark on this transformative journey and be a part of the global movement of women leading the AI revolution, visit www.themia.world.

“We believe that innovation starts with each and every one of us” – Tarja and Janna, co-founders Mia.
