Women Tech Council recognizes industry-leading women in technology and activates tech community for women in tech

Retired Navy Admiral Philip Davidson Named Recipient of 2023 Freedom of the Seas Award by National Museum of the Surface Navy


Prior to becoming commander of USINDOPACOM, Adm. Davidson previously served as commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command/Naval Forces U.S. Northern Command, U.S. 6th Fleet, and Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, and served as the deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and U.S. Naval Forces Africa. His sea commands included Carrier Strike Group 8/Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, USS Gettysburg (CG 64), and USS Taylor (FFG 50).

Redwood Credit Union Builds 418 Bikes for Kids–Inspiring Hope and Fulfilling Dreams


“RCU understands the importance of fostering the well-being of our youth, connecting them with the environment, and providing the freedom of transportation,” said Brett Martinez, President and CEO of Redwood Credit Union. “In addition to helping kids, an event like this inspires our team members. Eleven nonprofit partners in five North Bay counties and San Francisco selected the children to receive the bikes. Representatives from Specialized, where RCU purchased the bikes, other bike clubs, and the Trope Group were onsite to ensure quality bike-building and also helped transport the bikes.

Foundation of Little Village Empowers New Latino Entrepreneurs with Launch of Juntos Lanzamos Program in English


Adding an English-language version of Juntos Lanzamos is a significant step forward. It recognizes the evolving demographics of the Little Village community, where English is the dominant language for many aspiring Latino entrepreneurs.

“Our goal has always been to serve our community in the best possible way,” states Kim Close, executive director at the Foundation. “We’re excited to provide this English-language option to cater to a wider range of individuals who may not be fully bilingual in Spanish but have a strong desire to embark on an entrepreneurial journey while at the same time embrace their cultural roots.”

About Foundation of Little Village 
The Foundation of Little Village was founded in August 2018 with a mission to create a socioeconomic impact system for entrepreneurs of color.
