“This collaboration has the potential to bring neuroscience-aligned, trauma-informed, relationship-driven classroom management strategies to our schools to improve outcomes for our students, teachers and staff,” said Guy Stephens, founder of the AASR.

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), the world’s leading provider of de-escalation and crisis prevention training, announces a partnership with the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint (AASR) and its founder and executive director, Guy Stephens. CPI and AASR are committed to eliminating seclusion and reducing the use of physical restraints in schools nationwide. This partnership aims to build upon CPI’s existing work to create a safe and healthy learning environment for students and educators.

The partnership will include several collaborative initiatives. Initially, AASR will provide consulting on parent training programs and the next edition of CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program. Additional goals of the partnership include the further development of trauma-informed, neuroscience-aligned training programs to support educators in proactively preventing crises. CPI and AASR support the Keeping All Students Safe Act and similar state-level legislative efforts to reduce and eliminate the use of physical restraint and seclusion. CPI and AASR believe that establishing requirements for proactive prevention, de-escalation and monitoring will help school districts improve and will lead to better outcomes for children, families and schools.

“It’s exciting to work with CPI toward our shared goals of reducing the use of physical restraints and eliminating the use of seclusion in schools nationwide,” said Guy Stephens, founder of the AASR. “This collaboration has the potential to bring neuroscience-aligned, trauma-informed, relationship-driven classroom management strategies to our schools to improve outcomes for our students, teachers and staff.”

CPI training is child-centered and trauma-informed, with a strong emphasis placed on what CPI calls the “Integrated Experience,” which refers to an understanding of how one’s personal behavior impacts the behavior of others. The concept is the cornerstone of everything CPI believes about preventing life’s daily crisis moments. AASR strongly focuses on brain science and how trauma impacts the brain and nervous system within these integrated experiences, solidifying the AASR and CPI’s efforts to extend the science and improve outcomes for educators and students.

“Creating an environment where everyone involved in shaping a student’s learning experience feels safe and secure is crucial for both student and staff well-being,” said Susan Driscoll, president of CPI. “The COVID-19 pandemic had—and continues to have—a profound impact on our children and their mental health. We are committed to introducing more evidence-based techniques that not only de-escalate incidents involving children but, more importantly, prevent these adverse events through the applied understanding of neuroscience.”

Koa Health launches new digital mental health programs to support financial wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion

digital mental health app

Evidence-based, self-guided programs help employers and health plans provide accessible, low-friction pathways for mental health support on prevalent, intersectional mental health topics

“These new programs focusing on the intersection of mental health and financial wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion are a key part of Koa Health’s distinctive ethical commitments. This is how we deliver mental health for everyone.”

Koa Health, a leading global provider of digital mental healthcare solutions, today announced two new programs that give employers and insurers resources to help their workforce and member populations manage stress and difficult feelings and build mental resilience related to financial uncertainty and diversity, equity and inclusion issues.

In the last year, rising inflation and unemployment rates have created an environment prime for financial stress around the world. In the U.S., more than 91 million adults report that affording typical household expenses is “somewhat difficult” or “very difficult,” according to data released early this year by the Census Bureau. In the U.K., two-thirds of workers are rely on borrowed money to pay their everyday expenses. Koa Health’s new financial wellness program includes a variety of resources, activities and tips to help users manage money-related stress.

“Times are tough as the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic and works through a cost-of-living crisis, war in Europe, and the climate crisis. Research tells us that more than half of those people experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety will never seek traditional mental health care, citing a preference for self-help and stigma,” said Koa Health CEO Oliver Harrison. “We need to reach these people with accessible resources and simple navigation to help them manage difficult feelings and difficult circumstances.”

Additionally, the mental health of people of color and marginalized populations have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic and are two times more likely to feel mentally unsafe at work. Employees in underrepresented groups often are subject to microaggressions, unconscious bias and other stressors – all of which are detrimental to mental health and wellbeing. Partnering with award-winning EdTech company Other Box, Koa Health’s new program provides unique learning opportunities for all users to encourage healthy conversations about systematic racism, privilege, allyship and inclusion.

“There is an unacceptable gap in mental health care for those most exposed to today’s complex economic and social challenges, including people of color, LGBTQ+ and low-income populations,” Harrison said. “These new programs focusing on the intersection of mental health and financial wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion are a key part of Koa Health’s distinctive ethical commitments. This is how we deliver mental health for everyone.”

Koa Foundations, Koa Health’s flagship digital mental health app, supports employee and health plan populations to understand their mental health and build tools to help them cope with feeling down or anxious, improve sleep habits, mitigate symptoms of workplace stress and burnout, build better relationships and community connections and more. Its digitally-led programs have proven positive outcomes on mental wellbeing, sleep and resilience in just two weeks and create a non-threatening, discreet pathway to get help on demand.

LawCity.Com, the First Legal Community in Web 3.0, Issues NFTs to its Members Providing Them Unlimited Mental Health Services

CryptoMories

“Based on research from the American Bar Association and various legal media outlets, it is clear the legal industry is facing a mental health crisis today. LawCity.com is issuing these NFTs because, in keeping with LawCity.com’s first core value, “Community First,” we must take care of our own.”

LawCity.Com, the first legal district, legal directory, and legal search engine in Web 3.0, today announced that it has gifted CryptoMories non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to its member firms that will provide holders and their families unlimited mental health services.

LawCity’s decision to provide mental health-related NFTs to its members was inspired by the continued mental health struggles faced by lawyers and staff at large and small law firms alike, including the frequent news reports of deaths by suicide of lawyers across the U.S.

“Based on published research from the American Bar Association and various legal media outlets, it is clear the legal industry is facing a mental health crisis today,” said Richard Grungo, Jr., founder and CEO of LawCity.Com. “I have personally lost two of my mentors to mental health demons, and to this day my heart goes out to their families and former colleagues. LawCity.com is issuing these NFTs because, in keeping with LawCity.com’s first core value, “Community First,” we must take care of our own.”

LawCity.Com will gift 11 CryptoMories NFTs and issue them to the stakeholders of its member tenants:

The mental health services will be provided by Impact Suite, which teamed up with CryptoMories earlier this year to provide mental health services to CryptoMories holders. Impact Suite provides a suite of comprehensive mental health and wellness apps that allow users to, among other things, schedule teletherapy appointments, message lifestyle coaches, track wellness metrics, and access mindfulness and meditation practices, all of which can be used anonymously.

“CryptoMories’ mental health outreach and groundbreaking innovation in real-life utility, including free unlimited teletherapy from licensed therapists, came from our desire to elevate the entire industry,” said Bob “RxZen” Koyagi, the mental wellness outreach lead at CryptoMories. “Just as defi has impacted finance, gaining access to healthcare services through NFT token ownership could disrupt the insurance industry.”

“As mental health and addiction challenges continue to increase, it’s more important than ever to be innovative when it comes to providing support,” said Clay Olsen, Founder and CEO of Impact Suite. “We are proud to be at the cutting edge of this new approach to accessing mental health services and we look forward to the future.”

“Boundless possibilities await legal pioneers in Web 3.0—through the metaverse, through NFTs, and through decentralization generally,” said Grungo. “The NFTs LawCity.Com is issuing to its members are the latest examples of how LawCity.Com and its members are setting the pace for the legal industry’s adoption of Web 3.0 technologies that can have a meaningful impact on lawyers and law firm staff members.”

“This is really what Web 3.0 is about,” added Lance Wyllie, Web 3.0 Strategist, and Head of Marketing & Growth for LawCity.com. “The opportunities blockchain technology and smart contracts create for traditional business and especially the legal industry is terribly exciting. CryptoMories’ partnership with Impact Suite highlights just how powerful and groundbreaking NFTs can and will be for entire industries. With the mental health benefits holding a Cryptomorie NFT provides, it was a no-brainer for us to distribute these to our member firms so they could experience the revolutionary technology of Web 3.0.”

Fuseideas and Destination Analysts release study on The State of the American College Student

The emotional state of students is of utmost importance, as anxiety, feelings of overwhelm, and senses of loss have increased.

It’s no question that the pandemic dramatically altered a number of industries operating here in the United States, as well as throughout the world. One of the industries hardest hit was higher education. Colleges and universities across the country are still feeling the effects, trying to weather the changes, and rethink their strategies to attract, recruit, enroll, and retain students, many of who now question the need, value, and purpose of pursuing a college degree. To understand this Gen Z shift in mindset, perception, and behavior, creative marketing agency Fuseideas partnered with market research firm Destination Analysts to release proprietary findings from “The State of the American College Student” – a two-year-long study designed to understand and profile college students in America and to better serve higher education organizations in their marketing efforts.

Presented at the 2022 AMA Symposium on the Marketing of Higher Education on November 7th, The State of the American College student was designed to help leaders in higher education understand their most valuable target audience and re-envision their value chain to best support their wants and needs. The project began in 2021 with an initial benchmark-setting survey of 2,000 prospective and current college students. In 2022, a second survey was conducted to provide industry insights and uncover key trends that could shape the future of higher education.

Some key findings of the survey include:

  • The emotional state of students is of utmost importance, as anxiety, feelings of overwhelm, and senses of loss have increased
  • Students are worried for the future, expressing concern about job security, work-life balance, and overall professional well-being, both while in school and post-graduation
  • Students are more heavily influenced by “self-educators” who have diminished the value of a traditional college education, leaving many questioning the decision all-together

The State of the American College Student study report by Fuseideas and Destination Analysts, complete with full findings, is now available for download at [http://www.fuseideas.com/college-student-survey.
