BACKGROUND ON INFRARED SAUNA

Here is background on this release. Infrared technology has been researched and studied for decades and is used by licensed healthcare professionals all across North America. Traditional saunas use heat to warm the air around a person, while an infrared sauna heats the body directly. Infrared saunas are one of the few mediums that provide infrared heat in a controlled environment. Infrared heat is an invisible electromagnetic wave that helps improve blood flow. The BDC Substance Use Treatment and Recovery program requires designated facilities to deliver coordinated multidisciplinary care to patients and provide timely access to quality medical and psychosocial care in all phases of treatment. Designated facilities must also offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) – a way to treat opioid addiction that includes a medication component and behavioral therapy.
