NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 11, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — RevSpring, the leading provider of healthcare engagement and payment solutions, proudly announces that Kenneth Stoll, RevSpring vice president of strategic accounts, has received the 2023 Frederick C. Morgan Individual Achievement Award. The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) presented Stoll with the award at its 2023 Annual Conference for his lifelong contributions to HFMA and the healthcare finance profession.

“It’s an honor to receive the Individual Achievement Award from HFMA,” said Stoll. “I have been very fortunate throughout my career and always have made an effort to pay it forward, whether that involves giving back to the Columbus, Ohio area, serving HFMA or helping clients reach their goals.”

Stoll’s HFMA membership spans more than 25 years, during which he has held numerous volunteer roles at the local, regional and national levels. For nearly 20 years, he was a board member of the Central Ohio Chapter, including serving as chapter president and chair from 2007-11. In this term, Stoll led efforts that increased membership satisfaction rates and resulted in the chapter winning six national HFMA awards in 2010.

Since 2019, Stoll has served as chair of the Central Ohio Gives Back Committee, which, among other community efforts, has donated more than 40,000 much-needed socks to the homeless population in Columbus. Beyond Ohio, Stoll held regional executive roles from 2011-13, representing seven local chapters from Michigan and Ohio. Nationally, Stoll was appointed to an HFMA committee tasked with reinventing the chapter volunteer experience from 2015-19.

Stoll joined RevSpring in 2020 as vice president of strategic accounts. In this role, he proactively identifies RevSpring solutions that can help existing clients optimize their patient engagement and billing strategies. Stoll has made significant contributions during his tenure with RevSpring, which include leading the company in sales last year, an achievement he is on pace to repeat this year.

“We join HFMA in applauding Ken for his decades of service,” said Casey Williams, senior vice president, engagement and payment applications, RevSpring. “Through decades of delivering results and giving back, he has earned the trust and respect of revenue cycle management professionals, making him an inspiring colleague and effective steward of the RevSpring name. We are honored to have him on our team.”

Stoll is a graduate from Wittenberg University and has lived in Westerville, Ohio, with his wife Kelly, for the past 33 years. In addition to the Individual Achievement Award, he has been recognized repeatedly for his service by the HFMA, receiving the Central Ohio Chapter’s George Gevis Award; the Dick Schrock Award for promoting collaboration among HFMA chapters; and the President’s Gavel and Pin; and more.

Trauma Healing

Trauma Healing

Key themes include boundaries and communication; grief, trauma, and loss; and shame and vulnerability.

Recovery Unplugged Treatment Centers is pleased and excited to announce a new program for the millions of Americans struggling with trauma and addiction.

Developed in accordance with the organization’s philosophy of treating the whole individual and helping them build a fulfilling life in recovery, the program provides comprehensive treatment for the medical and lifestyle impact of substance abuse while also addressing the related trauma through a personalized course of behavioral therapy.

The Recovery Unplugged trauma track is offered through our residential treatment program in Austin, TX. Care includes group therapy and individualized counseling from Master’s-level clinicians; 24-hour medical provider access for medication management; supplemental therapies such as meditation, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness exercises; and personalized case management services. The program also offers access to Recovery Unplugged’s robust and extensive alumni community and events.

Key themes include boundaries and communication; grief, trauma, and loss; and shame and vulnerability. Treatment lasts an average of three weeks and is covered by most major insurances. The program launched on May 1st and is open to individuals throughout the country.

In a time when post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects over six percent of the American population and over 46 million Americans struggle with substance use disorder, addressing the overlap between these two conditions has never been more urgent. “Frequently individuals who come to treatment for addiction don’t realize that trauma has been a significant factor driving their use, says Joseph Gorordo, LCDC, Senior Vice-President, Austin Operations and Outreach. “Our goal is to help them identify the relationship between their trauma and substance abuse in order to heal both and give them the best opportunity possible at changing their lives.”

NCPG Releases Promotional Toolkit, Analytics Dashboard for National Problem Gambling Helpline

News Image

The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) has released a toolkit to facilitate the promotion of the National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-GAMBLER, and an analytics dashboard providing information on incoming traffic to the Helpline.

NCPG operates the National Problem Gambling Helpline, a single national access point to a network of local resources for those seeking help for a gambling problem. In June 2022, NCPG partnered with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, Inc. to begin using their 1-800-GAMBLER number as the National Problem Gambling Helpline number. This easy-to-remember number helps reduce barriers to resources for those affected by problem gambling. The National Problem Gambling Helpline Network consists of 29 contact centers that provide information, resources and referrals for all 50 states and US territories.

The 1-800-GAMBLER Promotional Toolkit is designed to help align messaging about the National Problem Gambling Helpline across gambling operators, media, state agencies, healthcare providers, and other organizations promoting the helpline to the public. Aligned and consistent messaging promoting a single point of contact is vital to ensuring public clarity about where to seek help for a gambling problem. The toolkit includes a variety of resources to help organizations promote 1-800-GAMBLER, including brand guidelines, logos, and social media shareables. The toolkit is available at no charge on the NCPG website.

The 1-800-GAMBLER promotional toolkit can be accessed at ncpgambling.org/helpline-toolkit.

Additionally, NCPG has launched a National Problem Gambling Helpline Analytics Dashboard. The dashboard is available to the public at no charge. It is designed to provide transparency and insight into the trends and patterns of incoming traffic to the National Problem Gambling Helpline. The dashboard includes interactive charts and graphs that allow users to filter the data by date, state or contact method.

The National Problem Gambling Helpline Analytics Dashboard can be accessed at https://www.ncpgambling.org/helpline-dashboard/.

“We are thrilled to release these resources for the National Problem Gambling Helpline,” said Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the NCPG. “Our research indicates only 45% of Americans would know where to get help for someone with a gambling problem. We hope this toolkit will make it easier for organizations to raise awareness of the Helpline and connect people with the resources they need.”

The toolkit and the dashboard are part of NCPG’s ongoing Helpline Modernization Project. Funded by a grant from the NFL via the NFL Foundation, NCPG is working to make updates to the National Problem Gambling Helpline, including enhancements to network services, training, operations, and public awareness. This project will enable NCPG to increase awareness of and improve access to high-quality services that are available to individuals, families and communities impacted by problem gambling.

About the National Council on Problem Gambling

The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) is the only national nonprofit organization that seeks to mitigate gambling-related harm. NCPG is neutral on legalized gambling. If you or someone you know may have a gambling problem, contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline, which offers hope and help without stigma or shame. Ideal Option Releases 2022 ID Patient Outcomes Report to Show Effectiveness of Medication-Assisted Treatment for Fentanyl, Heroin, Methamphetamine and Cocaine

Ideal Option, a national leader in outpatient medication-assisted treatment for addiction to opioids and other substances, has released its 2022 Annual Patient Outcomes Report for patients living in Idaho. This report contains an aggregated view of patients’ geographic and demographic characteristics, their stage and duration of care, adherence to medication and their substance use over time based on lab specimens collected during 2022 from more than 900 patients. The data support the effectiveness of treating addiction with FDA-approved medications combined with regular lab testing to verify medication adherence, create accountability and ensure patient safety.

Among Idaho patients who remained in treatment from initiation to the maintenance stage of care during 2022, the report shows:

  • 90% less total opioid use
  • 98% less fentanyl use
  • 90% less heroin use
  • 86% less methamphetamine use
  • 81% less cocaine use

The report also reveals synthetic drug use continuing to rise among enrolling patients in 2022, particularly fentanyl. Fentanyl is regularly mixed with other illicit drugs to make them more addictive, often without the user knowing. “Polysubstance use disorder is now the most common diagnosis at Ideal Option,” said Tim Kilgallon, CEO at Ideal Option. “In 2022, 62% of all Idaho patients tested positive for two or more substances at enrollment, and 26% tested positive for three or more substances.”

The data corroborate state reports of the increasingly prevalent role that fentanyl plays in the substance use epidemic. According to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, 44% of overdose deaths in Idaho in 2021 involved synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl, as compared to 21% in 2020, and 12% in 2019. In addition, according to a report from the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, “Fentanyl and methamphetamine were the most significant threats to Oregon and Idaho during 2021 based on drug seizures, drug related death data, initiative interviews, and surveys conducted in early 2022.”

Ideal Option data show that standard treatment for opioid use disorder dramatically reduces the use of methamphetamine in patients who test positive for both. View the full Ideal Option 2022 Annual Patient Outcomes Report for Idaho here: https://www.idealoption.com/patient-outcomes.

Ideal Option Partners with Las Cruces City Council to Propose Resolution Supporting Medication-Assisted Treatment for Substance Use Disorder

Ideal Option, a national leader in outpatient medication-assisted treatment for addiction to opioids and other substances, is partnering with the Las Cruces City Council and the Las Cruces Fire Department to bring forward a resolution directing City staff and contractors to provide education and referral information to citizens regarding substance use treatment options within the community.

Due to the increasingly prevalent role that fentanyl, a deadly and highly addictive synthetic opioid, has played in the substance use epidemic, overdose deaths have skyrocketed across New Mexico. According to the CDC National Center for Health Statistics, there were 617 overdose deaths due to synthetic opioids reported in New Mexico during the 12-month period ending in January 2022, an 85% increase from the 333 deaths reported during the same period the year before.

Studies indicate that medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can reduce the risk of death from substance abuse by more than 50%.

“Las Cruces has a number of medication-assisted and alternative substance abuse treatment providers available,” stated Kasandra Gandara, mayor pro-tem and District 1 councilor. “The purpose of this resolution is to ensure that City staff are performing outreach to those that may be in need of MAT services.”

One such treatment provider located in Las Cruces is Ideal Option, who helped more than 500 New Mexico patients get started in recovery last year. With no waitlists and most forms of insurance accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid, patients can typically get started on treatment for fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, alcohol, or other substances within 1-3 business days.

“Too few of our people struggling with addiction are ever offered medication for it,” stated Athena Huckaby, Ideal Option’s community outreach coordinator located in Las Cruces. “This resolution, if adopted by the City Council, could really move the needle here in Las Cruces as far as ensuring people are referred to low barrier, evidence-based treatment options for substance use issues.”

Ideal Option recently released their 2022 Annual Outcomes Report for patients living in New Mexico. Among those who remained in treatment from initiation to the maintenance stage of care during 2022, the report shows:

  • 89% less total opioid use
  • 94% less fentanyl use
  • 94% less heroin use
  • 88% less methamphetamine use
  • 87% less cocaine use

This proposal was presented to the City’s Health Policy Review Committee and then recommended for the City Council to consider for adoption.

The resolution will be presented and voted on at the City Council meeting on Monday, May 1, at 1 p.m. in Las Cruces City Hall. Ideal Option would like to invite all members of the community to attend in support and/or speak in favor of the resolution at the meeting.
