Plurilock Announces Addition of Cybersecurity Leader Ed Hammersla to Board of Directors

Plurilock Security Solutions, Inc., leading provider of behavioral-biometric authentication technologies, this week announced the addition of seasoned software executive Ed Hammersla, formerly of Trusted Computer Solutions (TCS), to its board of directors. The appointment took effect as of April 1st, 2020.

Hammersla brings over 40 years of software and cybersecurity experience to Plurilock as an independent director, including successful tenures at TCS, Forcepoint, Raytheon Cyber Products, IBM, NEC, Informix Federal, and Sterling Software.

“With Ed’s completely unique background in cybersecurity platforms, ecosystems, and infrastructure, we saw him immediately as a key addition to our growing team,” says Barry Carlson, chairman of Plurilock’s board of directors. “Ed has insights, connections, and experiences across the industry that can’t be duplicated. We’re fortunate to add such a steady wellspring of knowledge and skill to our leadership team.”

A startup veteran with deep ties to the venture capital community as a CEO, investor, and advisor, Hammersla was also instrumental in the development of the trusted Linux platform that gave rise to industry-standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and now serves on the external advisory board of the Critical Infrastructure Resilience Institute.

“We’re in a moment of rapid change in the security industry,” says Plurilock CEO Ian Paterson. “Companies are shifting rapidly to a remote workforce posture even as the best practices of a few years ago—one-time passwords, biometric scans, anti-malware, and so on—are really showing cracks and unplanned costs. Ed has a deep understanding of the day-to-day security needs and realities in the verticals that we serve—and how these will evolve going forward.”

Plurilock expects Hammersla’s critical expertise in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments, security policy and compliance, and enterprise cybersecurity to support its continued growth and expanding list of offerings and capabilities.

EX.CO Joins IRIS.TV’s Contextual Video Marketplace

Ex.co Joins the IRIS.TV Contextual Video Marketplace

With this partnership, publishers using EX.CO Channels will benefit from having all of their video content contextualized through the IRIS.TV marketplace, making it easier for brand marketers to target relevant ad opportunities on publishers’ sites, and thereby increase growth in revenue.

IRIS.TV, a video intelligence platform for broadcasters and publishers, today announced the introduction of EX.CO to the company’s Contextual Video Marketplace. With this integration, the thousands of publishers using EX.CO’s video inventory through their Channels product will have their videos contextually segmented by a growing list of leading data providers including Oracle Data Cloud, Comscore, and Spectrum Media Services, and made available to brands for brand-safe video advertising across any screen.

While brand-safety and brand-suitability have always been important considerations, now more than ever, marketers are looking to reach and engage consumers in ways that are both relevant and appropriate. This partnership expands the amount of video content that can be contextually segmented, leading to more targeted marketing opportunities for brands and increased demand for publishers’ video content.

EX.CO’s Channels video solution is a unique, content-driven way for publishers to monetize through in-stream video experiences. Videos are custom or dynamically-generated with options for publishers to stream relevant videos across a range of verticals including finance, health, entertainment, news and lifestyle.

“EX.CO offers premium video inventory at the scale and diversity that Fortune 500 brands demand,” said Field Garthwaite, CEO & co-founder of IRIS.TV. “As the retirement of third-party cookies and privacy regulations challenge how marketers reach and engage consumers, brands are increasingly demanding context as a requirement for their video ad campaigns. Video advertising is brand building so it’s about protecting your investment, winning hearts and minds, and of course seeing superior performance and ROI. Having EX.CO Channels join the marketplace is a win for audiences, publishers and advertisers.”

“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with IRIS.TV on building an eco-system that guarantees ad relevance and brand safety,” said Johanna Bergqvist, Head of Business Development at EX.CO. “With this partnership, publishers using EX.CO Channels will benefit from having all of their video content contextualized through the IRIS.TV marketplace, making it easier for brand marketers to target relevant ad opportunities on publishers’ sites, and thereby increase growth in revenue.”

Launched at Cannes Lions in 2019, IRIS.TV’s Contextual Video Marketplace brings together publishers, contextual data providers, ad servers, SSPs, and DSPs into a marketplace that enables publishers’ video content to be analyzed and categorized into industry-accepted brand-safety and brand-suitable segments.

Crain’s Chicago Business features Lisa Pickell as one of Chicago’s Notable Women in Construction and Design

I’m fortunate that I not only get to work in the business I love, but that I’m in a position to help make it even better.

Lisa appears along with other 48 other nominees in the May 2020 issue of Crain’s Chicago Business. (https://www.chicagobusiness.com/awards/crains-2020-notable-women-construction-and-design)

Lisa was nominated for her impact on the industry as well as for advancing the roles of women in construction. Lisa personally mentors many of these women, and the firm pays for continuing education to help young staff—female and male—find their future in the industry. Rio Ferdinand In Special Webinar Moderated By Haute Time With Rick de la Croix

On a footballer with whom he would want to have a boxing match, Ferdinand said, “Wayne Rooney. He used to box when he was younger so it would be a good challenge.”

A goal was scored by Haute Time as we welcomed the English football legend Rio Ferdinand for a chat about the “Beautiful Game” and quarantine days. He was joined by the timekeeping icon, and CEO of MLG Group, Rick de la Croix.

The webinar was hosted by Haute Living Co-founder Seth Semilof. Watch it here: https://www.hautetime.com/webinar-rick-de-la-croix-rio-ferdinand/96918/

Ferdinand played as a center-back and is now a television reporter for BT Sport. He played 81 times for the English national team (several wearing the Captain’s band) between 1997 and 2011 and was a member of three FIFA World Cup squads. While playing for Manchester United, he won six Premier League titles, as well as the UEFA Champions League in 2008.

De la Croix has been one of the main reasons for the ascent of Swiss watchmaker Hublot into the top echelon of timekeeping, having been behind several of the brand’s key partnerships, including those World Boxing Council, Depeche Mode, Pelé, and reggaeton star Nicky Jam. He is also an entrepreneur.

The talk with the two entrepreneurs included topics such as the effects that the pandemic has had on different continents, countries and their economies; the watch industry’s current standing around the world; Ferdinand’s top football career moments; their individual entrepreneurial endeavors, and more.

Highlight quotes from Rio Ferdinand:

  • “My wife and I are juggling our own work with school life, which can be very testing with three kids with three different schedules.”
  • “If we have another three weeks of this (quarantine), it’s not going to kill you. It will get you closer as a family.”
  • “In 2008, we won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League,” among others. “We felt unbeatable. There are not that many times in life where you feel that no one in the other team can get past you. The feeling doesn’t stay forever and doesn’t stay for too long, but you tell yourself to enjoy that moment.”
  • “Wayne Rooney. He used to box when he was younger so it would be a good challenge,” he said, on a footballer with whom he would want to have a boxing match.
  • “I’m part of a football agency managing company. We are doing video conferences with players and clients to make sure that people feel connected. We are shaping the team for when we eventually come out of this period.”
  • “Amplify is a platform where professionals in the health and well-being space can build their business out from it. The platform can quickly scale their business from having a 30-40 client base to hundreds.”
