Respected periodontists in Moorestown and Medford, NJ, Drs. Mario J. Canal and Ben Calem, recently hosted two study club events for their program, Pinnacle Dental Study Club, to provide continuing education to dental professionals. The two courses, “Cosmetic Dentistry Update: What, Where, When and How?” and “Decision Making in Prosthodontic Rehabilitation for Teeth and Implants,” featured highly experienced guest speakers and equipped attending dental professionals on how to improve care at their own practices.
“I have the opportunity to bring in speakers from all over the country to lecture and present their philosophy. We have all these specialties working together to provide the best comprehensive care for our patients,” says Dr. Calem. “The whole objective is a better patient experience and a better patient treatment outcome, and we have the opportunity to provide a higher quality of dental education.”
The first course, “Cosmetic Dentistry Update: What, Where, When and How?” featured speaker Dr. Michael Malone. Attendees learned about cosmetic dentistry including the best materials to use, where to use veneers or onlays versus crowns, when to use composite resin versus porcelain and how to design the materials for each case. The second course, “Decision Making in Prosthodontic Rehabilitation for Teeth and Implants” featured speaker Dr. Marco Brindis. Those attending learned the steps, materials, preparation and bonding skills necessary to restore dental implants and give patients a healthy, attractive smile again.
Drs. Canal and Calem offer implant solutions, including All-on-4® full mouth dental implants, at both their practice locations in Moorestown and Medford, NJ. Dental implants are often used to replace missing or failing teeth with a lifelike and long-term alternative. With the All-on-4 approach, the periodontists can restore a full arch of missing teeth with as few as four dental implants. Attached to these implants are a bridge or denture prosthesis that gives patients a full set of functional, attractive teeth. This procedure is revolutionary because it can be completed in just a single appointment. Patients receive many benefits from replacing missing teeth with dental implants, including:
- Improved self confidence
- Ability to eat without restriction
- Enhanced speech
- Prevention of jawbone deterioration
- Stability of the teeth
