Fine Arts Skin & Laser Facial Plastic Surgery exists today because of a unique blend of experiences and events in the life of Dr. David Hartman. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University, graduating with high honors – summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and the National Dean’s List. He was one of only two college students in the state that year to receive the Governor’s Award for Exceptional Volunteer Service.
More than a decade in New York City and Los Angeles found David acting in commercials, film, and daytime television, earning his membership in the Screen Actors Guild. During that time, he also designed and built exquisite furniture collections for elite producers, directors, and actors in Hollywood.
These artistic experiences honed David’s ability to work with his hands and developed his eye for beauty, proportion, and detail.
Following his father’s terminal battle with cancer, David turned to the medical field as he was inspired by the empathy he saw modeled by his father’s medical team. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, graduating from the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and magna cum laude. He then completed his residency training in Manhattan at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, one of America’s premier facial plastic surgery training programs.
Dr. Hartman is board-certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). His other professional memberships include the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine, and the American Medical Association.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Hartman enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and two children, Lucy and Jonas. David’s hobbies include working on their small farm of orchard trees and hiking trails. Six dogs, a cat, two goats, and a miniature horse named “Farmer” keep things lively. He also enjoys performing in comedy skits at his church, furniture making, and restoring old oil paintings. His office is a gallery of more than 100 of his painting restorations.
