After a 33 year career with BJG Electronics on Long Island, Rick Flora announced his retirement effective 31 Dec. BJG’s president Kent Smith was named as President & CEO. Smith has served as BJG’s president since February of this year. Flora will continue to serve as a member of BJG’s board of directors going forward.
BJG’s chairman Glenn Davidson thanked Rick for his strong leadership and said that “Rick Flora, along with his brothers Joe and Jim, have built BJG in to an industry leader widely recognized by the world’s largest military and aviation OEM’s as a reliable source for their most critical parts.” BJG’s newly named President & CEO Kent Smith noted that “Thanks to Rick’s leadership and the hard work of the BJG team, BJG is expected to achieve record sales revenue in 2020. In an address to BJG employees, Flora expressed appreciation for help in building what has become one of the world’s leading suppliers of military and aviation interconnect components. Flora acknowledged that he leaves BJG in an “Incredibly strong position with the tools, products and a team that will allow the company to grow well in to the foreseeable future.” Building on that theme, Smith comments “BJG is now a ‘one-stop’ solution for OEMs, harness houses and builders in the military, aerospace and related harsh environment markets. We will continue to invest in expanding BJG’s capabilities and the value that we provide to our customers.”
Over the past 2 years BJG has announced and completed three important acquisitions including Montana based CTL, Florida based Intro Corp and California based Whitmor-Wirenetics. These acquisitions have significantly expanded BJG’s line card, service offerings and geographic reach. BJG’s comprehensive product offering provides both standard and engineered solutions supporting interconnect, wire & cable, and electromechanical requirements.
