BioFit ArmorSeat Chairs Deliver In-Demand Infection-Fighting Features

Already backed by a solid reputation of performance and reliability in higher education and industrial markets, the ArmorSeat series is increasingly proving to be a must-have in today’s bioscience, pharmaceutical and tech sectors.

BioFit Engineered Products, a global leader in the design and fabrication of technical ergonomic seating and commercial furnishing solutions, is reintroducing its ArmorSeat™ seating series to the bioscience, biotechnology and other pertinent markets in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Fully ergonomic and available in configurations for cleanrooms and other specialized workspaces, these chairs feature antimicrobial properties and are designed to withstand frequent cleaning and disinfecting.

BioFit ArmorSeat seating has long been a popular choice among professionals in healthcare and multiple science disciplines, including biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory users and others in today’s most critical work environments. Component highlights include molded polypropylene seats and backs with antimicrobial properties and UV inhibitors blended throughout the polymer, ensuring these treatments will not wear off for the life of the chair, compared to topical treatments that rub or wear off over time. The polypropylene-antimicrobial-UV-inhibitor blend results in tough construction which also enables chairs to defend against pathogens and stand up to ultraviolet lighting prevalent in technical settings which can decrease the useful life of unprotected seating products. Seat and back surfaces have an exclusive a no-wax stipple finish, which further enhances cleanability. Other features and functionality include pneumatic seat height adjustment, fixed rearward seat tilt of 3.5 degrees, backrest tilt and height adjustment, and integrated lumbar support. Four base styles and three seat height ranges from desk- to high-bench height are available to accommodate a variety of tasks, and options include footings and a free-floating articulating seat control. All models come standard with either dual-wheel resistance casters to keep chairs from rolling away when unoccupied or polyamide glides. Standard seat and back colors include blue or black, with custom colors available. ArmorSeat chairs are LEED-compliant for use in commercial interiors and made in the USA. And, like nearly all BioFit products, carry a 13-year warranty.

“Already backed by a solid reputation of performance and reliability in higher education and industrial markets, the ArmorSeat series is increasingly proving to be a must-have in today’s bioscience, pharmaceutical and tech sectors,” shared BioFit president Ed Metzger. He continued: “At the end of the day, our primary mission is to enhance the well-being of workers and improve the workplace experience. In the face of the ongoing pandemic, BioFit is proud that we can take this objective to an even higher degree with our ArmorSeat model by helping to further protect those who research and strive to develop vaccines, antidotes and solutions for the rest of us.”
