Autism Cares Today, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and provide treatment services and support to families and children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), has awarded Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) founder Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh with the Visionary Award at this year’s 14th Annual Denim, Diamonds & Stars gala.
The Visionary Award is given to a community leader who exemplifies its mission of providing necessary resources to help individuals with autism achieve their full potential.
Doreen Granpeesheh, Ph.D., BCBA-D and CARD founder is a world-renowned psychologist and behavior analyst with expertise in the field of autism research and treatment, and has dedicated more than 40 years to helping individuals with autism lead healthy, productive lives. She founded CARD in 1990 and since then, the organization has been recognized as a global leader in the field of autism treatment and the third-largest nongovernmental organization contributing to autism research in the United States.

The Denim, Diamonds & Stars gala, hosted by Autism Care Today, raises funds for the organization to build awareness around its advocacy efforts in addition to growing its support services such as behavioral therapy, medical care, assistive technology, social skills programs and more.
In addition to the night’s honorees, more than 500 other guests were in attendance including celebrities and families impacted by autism and the general community to celebrate the year’s accomplishments.
