Being recognized with one of the most prestigious awards in the glass industry is especially satisfying.
GREENFIELD, Ind. (PRWEB)
September 11, 2019
Modernfold, Inc. is proud to announce that its new 51 STC acoustical glass product has won the 2019 Glass Magazine R&D Award. The award honors important research and development efforts by the Greenfield, Indiana company, enabling architects and designers to select 51 STC acoustical glass whenever they specify Acousti-Clear® movable glass wall systems and achieving levels of sound transmission control previously unavailable with the design and daylighting possibilities of glass.
Winners of the 2019 Glass Magazine Awards were announced Sept. 3. The magazine’s prestigious glass and metal industry awards program recognizes the best products and glass applications the commercial, retail and fabrication markets have to offer.
“It’s a matter of great pride to our company and to me personally to receive this award,” said Bryan Welch, Modernfold Managing Director. “We devoted a great deal of time and effort to the research and development of this state-of-the-art acoustical glass for architectural applications. Both the design community and the overall market have responded powerfully to the capabilities that 51 STC glass enables, and being recognized with one of the most prestigious awards in the glass industry is especially satisfying.”
Acousti-Clear® movable wall systems provide a lasting, visually appealing, superbly flexible way to structure and restructure interior spaces. Before the development of the new product, they provided the high-end look of glass with 45 STC. The newly available 51 STC rating for acoustical glass enables new possibilities, changing the way architects and designers use movable glass walls within a variety of spaces requiring space flexibility and sound control.
Wherever Acousti-Clear® is selected, it delivers exceptional daylighting capabilities and design aesthetics that are only available with glass. Adding the unmatched effectiveness of 51 STC acoustical control further enhances the advantages of the Acousti-Clear® line for schools, offices, meeting areas and anywhere it’s essential to confine sounds within selected spaces.
Modernfold’s new 51 STC sound control advancement is offered in all three product lines: Acousti-Clear® Motorized, Acousti-Clear® Automatic, and Acousti-Clear® Demountable.
Project awards in the program were selected by a panel of judges representing all segments of the glass and glazing industry. The judges chose winners in each project category and cast votes to determine the first Glass Magazine Award Project of the Year.
This year, Glass Magazine opened voting in the Product Award categories to readers. “The 2019 Glass Magazine Awards include impressive products, systems, equipment and more to serve all segments of the glass and glazing industry. Who better to determine this year’s most standout products than those across the industry—from the field to the factory—who will be the ones to use these innovations?” said Katy Devlin, editor-in-chief.
The winners for both project and product categories will be featured in the September 2019 issue of Glass Magazine, the Sept. 3 edition of e‐glass weekly and on GlassMagazine.com. Winners will also be recognized Sept. 18 at the Express Learning Theater during GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo in Atlanta.
