National Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (National COSH)
United Association for Labor Education (UALE)
Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA)
As part of their efforts, the ASTTU is proud to sponsor key events, such as the 2024 6th Annual Missouri State Conservation Dinner, organized by the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA). This event supports USA’s mission to unite the union community through conservation, helping to preserve North America’s outdoor heritage.
“We are excited to work alongside these dedicated organizations that share our commitment to supporting workers and advocating for their rights,” said Carl Galdine, Director of Membership and Benefits at ASTTU. “By partnering with these organizations, we can build a stronger foundation for protecting the well-being of skilled trade and transportation workers.”
ASTTU’s collaboration extends beyond sponsorships. On September 5, 2024, Carl Galdine represented ASTTU at the National COSH Fired Up! Town Hall: Workers Speak Out for Heat Justice, where he joined speakers such as Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA Doug Parker and U.S. Representative Judy Chu (D-CA). During the event, labor leaders discussed the urgent need for protections against extreme heat in the workplace. To further this cause, the ASTTU has added National COSH’s Petition for Heat Justice to its website’s Action Center at www.asttu.org/action-center, urging the Biden Administration to prioritize worker safety in extreme conditions.
These efforts reflect ASTTU’s commitment to advancing the interests of skilled trade and transportation workers through active participation in the labor movement. By continuing to support and collaborate with key pro-labor organizations, ASTTU seeks to ensure the rights and safety of all workers remain a top priority.

A large portion of people in the impacted area have little education, inconsistent work or no work, and many lack formal housing. During the storms, powerful floods swept away food, clothing, furniture and other items, meaning survivors have to start again from scratch. Together with HOPE Africa, Episcopal Relief & Development is working through local churches to distribute blankets, beanies and sandbags to 200 households so they stay warm while waiting for the government to provide temporary or long-term shelter.
“All around, people–especially those in informal settlements–are feeling physically and emotionally drained. They are cold, hungry and are without a proper place to stay,” shared Canon Delene Mark, CEO, HOPE Africa, adding, “While we may be able to assist with blankets, sandbags and beanies, we are also advocating for social housing, decent and safe living spaces from provincial and national governments.”
Through volunteers from churches, HOPE Africa is able to talk to people, hear their needs and refer them to services including church soup kitchens and public support services.
“We are proud of this response in partnership with HOPE Africa because they are present and active in communities that are the most in need and because this partnership highlights the power of faith institutions,” said Nagulan Nesiah, Senior Program Officer, Episcopal Relief & Development. “The church is far-reaching and impactful. Through grass-roots networks, ministries and government connections, they are able to identify the most in need when disasters strike.”
Please pray for the impacted communities in South Africa as they recover from this disaster and endure a harsh winter. Donations to the International Disaster Fund will help provide emergency and long-term recovery support to survivors of disasters.

Mployer, the nation’s leader in providing employee benefits ratings and analytics, today announced the launch of Insights+, an industry-first solution designed to empower employers, employees and leading brokers to rate their employee benefit plans against similar companies and easily communicate their position to employees and recruits.
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 10, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Mployer, the nation’s leader in providing employee benefits ratings and analytics, today announced the launch of Insights+, an industry-first solution designed to empower employers, employees and leading brokers to rate their employee benefit plans against similar companies and easily communicate their position to employees and recruits.
Employers spend $1.5T+ on employee benefits each year, yet there is no definitive measure for employers or employees of what good benefits are. Some employers offer benefits much richer than intended overspending on benefits while others provide benefits that lag the market, yet do not know it. Insights+ solves this problem for free by allowing employers and employees to rate their benefits quickly and easily against employers just like them.
Key Features of Insights+ include:
1. Free to use: Employers can access their rating for free by sharing their benefit plans guide. After sharing the guide, you will receive your rating in under 24 hours.
2. Detailed Plan Assessment: A 25-page assessment of your benefits vs. your custom cohort is available evaluating each component of your benefit package, from medical and contribution to leave and retirement.
3. Recognition and Communication Package: For employers who qualify, you will receive a Recognition Package to use to promote and communicate the value of your benefits to their employees.
“Insights+ is a game-changer for employers looking to stand out among the competition,” said Anthony Waters, Chief Growth Officer. “Providing recognition for great benefit plans will not only enhance employer branding, but also drive greater employee satisfaction, trust and retention.”
Chris Burns, CFO of Touchstone Closing, shared “Employees and new hires always ask if our benefits are good. We can finally answer that with confidence and show proof with Mployer’s Insights+. Being able to see how our benefits compare to similar companies from an independent source is exactly what we needed to be confident and validate in the investment we make in benefits each year.”
Mployer is transforming employee benefits by empowering employers and leading benefit consultants to easily assess, rate, and communicate the value of employee benefits. Providing industry-first transparency through unbiased research, benchmarking, and advanced analytics, our goal is to support employers and brokers in providing benefit plans that optimize costs and employee-employer relationships.
