Andy Cohen Headlines 21st Annual Melanoma Research Foundation’s New York City Gala

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) will host the 21st annual NYC Gala on Thursday, October 20 at Cipriani Broadway. This year’s event will celebrate the scientific progress that has changed the landscape of melanoma treatment while honoring melanoma patients, thrivers, caregivers and clinicians. The gala will welcome Emmy award-winning host, producer, New York Times best-selling author, melanoma survivor and advocate, Andy Cohen, as Gala Emcee for the second consecutive year.

“As a melanoma survivor, I am incredibly humbled and moved to host what will be a truly magical evening of inspiration, courage and progress,” said Andy Cohen. “The MRF enables life-saving research, treatment advances and awareness that will allow more melanoma patients to become melanoma thrivers.”

A key component of the NYC Gala program is recognizing heroes in the melanoma community. This year, the MRF will honor Michelle Henry, MD, FAAD with the Excellence in Prevention Award, dermatologist Dustin Portela, DO with the social media Influencer Award and Brian Peter Marr, MD with the CURE Ocular Melanoma Vision of Hope Award. Finally, we will recognize three incredible melanoma patients with the distinct Courage Award: Neutrogena’s “In the Sun” documentary participant, melanoma survivor and 2022 #GetNaked spokesperson Monique Mack, Olympic Gold Medalist and 2022 #GetNaked spokesperson Summer Sanders and Dave Jones accepted posthumously on his behalf by his son, NASCAR Driver Erik Jones.

The MRF is excited to announce that all new donations to the NYC Gala will be matched by an anonymous donor and all donations are 100% tax-deductible. All contributions support the MRF’s mission to support research advancements, education and advocacy for the melanoma community.

Gala attendees will be able to engage and honor the melanoma community through a seated dinner, once-in-a-lifetime auction items and experiences, special presentations and an exciting Fund-a-Grant that will help deliver the next groundbreaking treatment! The MRF thanks the dedicated co-chairs and host committee, financial sponsors and in-kind sponsors and supporters who each contributed to the development of this 21st annual Gala.
