Amy-Jo Yogmas is Appointed President of Boekel Scientific

Amy-Jo takes the reigns as the spotlight is on laboratory research and our equipment as it has been at few times in human history because of vaccine development and treatment research necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic.

Boekel Scientific, a globally recognized designer and manufacturer of laboratory equipment and medical devices, has announced the promotion of Amy-Jo Yogmas to President, effective immediately. She replaces Stephen Christie, who had served in the role since 2015. Yogmas has 17 years of progressively responsible executive experience at Boekel Scientific in the areas of sales, marketing, quality, and operations. She also last month was nominated to serve as Vice Chairman of the Laboratory Products Association, the leading trade group representing the laboratory products industry, where she has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2019.

Yogmas assumes leadership of Boekel Scientific with a mandate to fulfill the company vision of global leadership in the supply and innovation of life science tools. “I am honored to lead a company with a world-class team dedicated to fulfilling our mission,” Yogmas said. “We will supply the research and medical communities with high-quality products that will contribute to improving life as our mission states,” she continued. Yogmas is already familiar to many of the company’s associates and will work to enhance and coordinate their efforts in further developing the company and its products.

Specific goals include expanding Boekel Scientific’s research and medical device offerings while coordinating closely with the company’s distributors to benefit patients and researchers. A native of Bucks County, PA, Yogmas and her husband Ed reside there today. She approaches every aspect of her extensive career at Boekel with enthusiasm and a spirit of professionalism. Whether obtaining Medical Device Manufacturing standard ISO 13485 or understanding the efficiency of thermoelectric cooling, she uses her intelligence and initiative to be decisive and drive innovation further. She also prides herself on empowering her associates, giving them the freedom and room to learn and grow professionally.

Some of her notable achievements at Boekel include obtaining SCOPE approval for its blood banking equipment and managing the development of an OEM blood pathogen detection reagent warming system. She is often visible at Boekel trade show booths demonstrating the capabilities of the company’s highly regarded plasma thawers or CO2 incubators.
