Melwood has partnered with Amazon’s Alternative Workforce Supplier Program (AWSP) to provide job opportunities for people of differing abilities.
Since 1963, Melwood has offered job placement, training, and support services to people of differing abilities while providing companies like Amazon with a reliable workforce solution. Melwood believes every person is capable of working competitively when provided the proper training and support.
“We are proud of Amazon for being a leader in workforce inclusion and thrilled to be partnering with them to connect our high-quality workforce pipeline to Amazon’s evolving career opportunities,” said Cari DeSantis, President & CEO of Melwood. “It’s a win-win for us both and a step in the right direction towards a future where people of differing abilities are fully included in society.”
Amazon chose to partner with Melwood because of the nonprofit’s proven capacity to train and support individuals of differing abilities. Trained Melwood staff work with people on and off job sites to empower them to succeed in various lines of business, such as Amazon’s Warehouse Associate positions. Melwood’s team matches candidates’ skills and interests to their positions and supports their transition into the workplace through training and coaching. Melwood has utilized its extensive network of other nonprofits and partnered with State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies to help make this program a success.
