Alan Skrainka, Long Time Market Strategist Joins Krilogy

Krilogy® and I share the same commitment to the development and disciplined execution of a well-thought-out wealth management plan

Krilogy®, a St. Louis-based wealth management firm with more than $1 billion in assets, has added Alan Skrainka, CFA, to its investment team. Skrainka will serve as Krilogy’s Chief Market Strategist and Director of Research.

Skrainka is well known in the investment community and in the national financial news media, which has relied on his insights on market trends and wealth management for decades. He began his career in St. Louis in 1982 at Edward Jones, becoming the firm’s youngest partner in 1989. Since leaving the firm in 2010, Skrainka has spent his career in the RIA space, most recently as Chief Investment Officer for Cornerstone Wealth Management.

Throughout Skrainka’s career, advisors and clients have turned to him to provide a calm voice and a steady hand regardless of market conditions. “Krilogy® and I share the same commitment to the development and disciplined execution of a well-thought-out wealth management plan,” said Skrainka. “I believe in a common-sense approach to investing based on sound principles, not predictions. This allows for deliberate actions and good decisions that will improve clients’ lives.”

Skrainka is the author of “Principle Based Investing, a Sensible Guide to Investment Success,” a book which outlines the principles he has applied in his 35 years as an investment professional. “Principle Based Investing” covers topics from the investment process and choosing investments to understanding performance, taxes and risk.

“We’ve watched Alan over the years and feel we understand how his principles and approach would further enhance the value we deliver to Krilogy® clients,” said President and CEO Kent Skornia. “He brings a long-term and historical perspective to investing and is a trusted voice who furthers our belief in focused, informed and deliberate actions to support clients.”

A 1983 graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Skrainka went on to earn his M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1990. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1986.
