MONROE, La. (PRWEB)
October 25, 2019
Northeast Delta Human Services Authority will host a listening session for the citizens of Ruston and Lincoln Parish to discuss issues of mental health, addiction, prevention and developmental disabilities.
This event will allow citizens to engage Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, executive director of Northeast Delta HSA, and staff in a discussion of the social issues affecting the local communities. “Issues such as mental health, addiction, and developmental disabilities affect members of our community from all walks of life without regard to age, race, or economic status,” said Dr. Sizer. “Our agency works hard to bridge the gap between our citizens and the services they need to thrive, but we need the help of our community and faith leaders, along with the citizens they represent, to identify the areas most in need of our focus.”
In addition to the listening session, Dr. Sizer will present actionable steps to address problems and provide information concerning assistance for those who need it. “Now is the time for us to be focused on what unites us as a people and region,” Dr. Sizer added. “We must also become more efficient and effective at meeting complex human needs. People are dying, and too many lives are wasting away due to poor coordination, turf wars and political and social division.”
All citizens of Lincoln Parish are encouraged to attend the listening session on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, from 6-7 p.m. Seating will be available inside the main sanctuary of New Living Word Ministries, 1900 W Barnett Springs Avenue in Ruston.
