Author Terren L. Dames seeks to restore the church to its true purpose in Seven Pillars of Discipleship: Pillar 2 the Church and its Doctrines ($18.99, paperback, 9781631299902; $9.99, e-book, 9781631229919).
In this second installment to his “Seven Pillars of Discipleship” series, Dames focuses on the church and its role in our society. He believes that the vast majority of church members today lack the passion that was present in the first century church, and many of her classic principles have been lost.
“There is a great need in the church to understand what it means to be and live as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Most Christians believe that Christianity is about becoming a Christian, when it is truly about making disciples,” said Dames.
Dr. Terren L. Dames presently serves as senior pastor and elder at North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship in Plano, Texas. He has an earned PhD from the University of North Texas in comparative higher education and cognate in Christian higher education, a Th.M. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in practical theology, a MA from Dallas Theological Seminary in Christian Education and a BA from the College of Biblical Studies in Leadership. Dames and his wife, Stacy, have been married for more than 20 years and share four children. He is also the author of Seven Pillars of Discipleship: Pillar 1 Salvation.
