Advera Health Analytics Brings Drug Safety Data to the Open:FactSet Marketplace

Advera Health Analytics, a market leader in cloud based software and data-as-a-service drug safety solutions, today announced the launch of its data on the Open:FactSet Marketplace™ (OFM).

The OFM will feature Advera’s proprietary FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) data. FAERS is the U.S. national database containing information on drug adverse events and medication errors voluntarily reported to FDA about marketed drugs. Advera is a market leader in providing optimized and cleansed FAERS data, statistical analysis, and critical workflow tools to pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, and large healthcare providers.

Advera’s FAERS database contains over 12 million adverse drug event reports, with 1.5 million events reported in 2019 alone. Every adverse drug event report is mapped to the appropriate pharmaceutical company, drug, condition, indication, and mechanism of action and also contains de-identified patient demographic data. Drug label information and statistical calculations of disproportionate reporting are also provided. OFM clients will be able to use Advera’s data in combination with other OFM data sources to power quantitative models for the biopharmaceutical sector.

“Post-marketing adverse event data can be used as a leading indicator for a variety of market triggers”, said Brian Overstreet, President and CEO of Advera Health. “Regulatory authorities and pharmaceutical companies have long used advanced analytics with FAERS data to detect emerging drug safety issues in approved drugs. Our collaboration with FactSet will allow us to not only deliver these data to a broader set of global organizations, but will open opportunities to combine with other OFM datasets to better understand, develop, and refine strategies in the biopharmaceutical sector.”
