AdaptX Hires Dr. Andrew Foster, MD, COL (USA Retired) as Vice President for Military & Veterans Health

AdaptX, a clinical performance management solution company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Foster, MD, COL (USA Retired) as Vice President for Military & Veterans Health. AdaptX’s hiring of Dr. Foster in this executive leadership role reflects AdaptX’s commitment to supporting military clinicians in their mission to provide the best possible healthcare to service members, veterans and their families. In his new position, Dr. Foster will be responsible for managing AdaptX’s relationships with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Prior to his recent retirement from active duty, Dr. Foster served for many years as Chief of Madigan Army Medical Center’s Department of Anesthesia and Operative Services at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. In this leadership role, Dr. Foster supervised treatment for thousands of service members and their families. Long known for his commitment to innovation, Dr. Foster played an integral role in patient safety, EMR (MHS Genesis) implementation, and OR efficiency. Dr. Foster’s innovations in patient safety were recognized by the Army Medical Department’s Patient Safety Program as standard-setting achievements that have been replicated Army-wide.

“AdaptX is honored to benefit from Colonel Foster’s deep expertise in providing military healthcare,” said Warren Ratliff, chief executive officer of AdaptX. “Colonel Foster is not only well-respected physician but also a recognized leader in clinical operations excellence. We are thrilled to have Colonel Foster join AdaptX as we work to support our military medical services in their mission to maintain the health and readiness of our service members serving in harm’s way.”

“I am excited to join AdaptX to support my passion for improving quality and capacity. With our military’s implementation of a new generation of electronic health records, we have a unique opportunity to support our military clinicians and administrators in leveraging their real-world data to improve and manage care,” said Dr. Andrew Foster, vice president for military and veterans health of AdaptX. “AdaptX empowers clinical leaders to monitor and evaluate care across patients, so that clinicians can rapidly adapt care to achieve better quality, efficiency, and equity. I look forward to working with leaders and clinicians from all branches of the military to advance these goals.”

Foster’s leadership role at AdaptX builds on the tremendous success that the company has had in catalyzing transformations in the quality, efficiency, and equity of care. For example, a hospital using AdaptX recently generated an additional 150,000 minutes per year of surgical capacity, dramatically increasing revenue while reducing clinician burnout, without changing staffing. Using the same AdaptX solution, a health system eliminated opioids from more than 40,000 surgery cases. At the same time, another customer used AdaptX to identify and address disparities in maternal health. These case studies and more can be found at adaptx.com/results.
