Acuity Eye Group is Open and Serving All Eye Care Patients

“We are confident it is safe for routine patients and elective surgery patients to come in and have adopted additional safety measures to protect patients, doctors, and staff” said Dr. Tom S. Chang.

Acuity Eye Group is committed to serving the patients in its communities and made the decision to reopen on May 18th to all eye care patients in need. During the last few months, Acuity remained open for urgent and emergent eye care patients ensuring those with chronic conditions and at risk for vision loss received the care they needed. “We are confident it is safe for routine patients and elective surgery patients to come in and have adopted additional safety measures to protect patients, doctors, and staff” said Dr. Tom S. Chang.

Acuity has taken additional measures to ensure all patients and team members are protected while in the clinic, such as masking everyone that is in the clinic (doctor, staff, and patient), temperature checking all patients at check-in, and requiring all patients to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire. During the visits, the physicians are educating patients on how to appropriately practice social distancing, how to correctly fit and wear a mask for greatest protection, and are available to answer questions patients and caregivers have as to how best to care for themselves and others during this time.

At Acuity, the health of their patients is their #1 priority and at the heart of every decision they make. Acuity understands that the COVID-19 pandemic will not have a short-term impact on patients and their care but, rather, will become the new norm under which patients and physicians need to function. Acuity has implemented new measures to protect patients and staff and is using the interactions during this time to educate patients and caregivers, giving them the proper tools and information to protect themselves and others in their communities.
