ABQAURP’s Annual Health Care Quality & Patient Safety Conference: Redesigning Care Through Service Excellence, Technology, and Disruptors, is being presented on October 19-20, 2023, at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater Beach, FL. This annual event brings together thought leaders from health care and technology industries to discover innovations and approaches to quality health care, patient safety, and population health.

From our knowledge of Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), we understand that direct medical care only influences 20% of an individual’s overall health, while 80% is influenced by factors such as access to health care, gender, culture, income, social support networks, education and employment status, physician and social environments, personal health practices and coping skills, among others. Health care providers are left with a limited window to be able to engage, educate, and partner with patients in their health care.
Consequently, the emphasis the past few decades has been on learning more about disparities in our communities and bridging those gaps through technology, innovative and “disruptive” models of health care delivery, and service excellence. All while continuing to aim for the delivery of the highest quality, cost-effective health care possible!
