Viscira, a leading provider of innovative digital marketing solutions and software applications for the life sciences industry, announced today that the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts has selected Viscira as a Gold Davey Award winner for its interactive eLearning module for adult vaccines. Additionally, Viscira secured a Silver Davey Award for an augmented reality (AR) program for lupus patients and caregivers. Both programs were done in close collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

The interactive eLearning module is a dynamic, engaging module that provides pharmacists with information about adult vaccinations. The module includes built-in scenarios and quiz questions that can be used by all pharmacists to help with training needs. Located publicly at http://www.gsk-vacciNATION.com, pharmacists are able to access the module at their convenience from any device.

The augmented reality program used a small physical house in conjunction with an iPad loaded with a mobile app that came to life with both AR and video components. The physical house has four separate rooms, and each room represents a different type of individual dealing with lupus —the overwhelmed patient, the actor patient, the warrior patient, and the caregiver. The AR and video components of the app experience allow patients to see and identify with someone who has the same thoughts, feelings, and daily struggles with lupus.

The Davey Awards is in its 16th year and is overseen and sanctioned by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative, and marketing firms. AIVA members include executives from organizations such as Conde Nast, Disney, GE, Keller Crescent, Microsoft, Monster.com, MTV, Push, Publicis, Sesame Workshops, The Marketing Store, Worktank, Yahoo!, and many others.
