A divorce can be a difficult blow to handle. It causes changes that are a lot more than what is expected. But for Nathalie Benarroch a.k.a. A Divorcee, a divorce can be a tunnel to self-discovery.

In her first book, “I Will Survive” (published by iUniverse), Benarroch retells her struggles with divorce, hoping to resonate to anyone’s struggles with separation, whether it is in marriage or in the general upheaval of life. In her story, she reiterates that divorce is an evitable process in life–divorce from parents, place of origin, a job, children, culture, language, youth, etc.

The book mainly focuses on divorce but also highlights different identities, cultures, roles that make up today’s lives, especially a woman’s. The divorce is set against the background of the three continents Benarroch has lived in and offers a picturesque tableaux of life in Casablanca ruled by French colonialism, Montreal in the glamorous ’80s, and finally a very fashionable life in Paris.

Targeting women as her book’s readers, Benarroch hopes to be a catalyst of personal growth and self-discovery through his book. “I want readers to be able to relate to it and also see their lives as observers and grow from the experience and the reading of my story,” she says.
