Coalition for Family Harmony (Coalition), which serves survivors of domestic violence in Ventura County, has been awarded a grant through the California Office of Emergency Services to provide mobile health care services to domestic violence emergency shelters in Ventura County.
The Coalition is contracting with Dr. Mohammed Rezai from the Mobile Wellness Clinic to provide services. Dr. Rezai is a double board-certified physician in family medicine and addiction medicine.
The mobile medical unit will provide services such as:
-COVID-19 vaccines
-COVID-19 testing
-Post-acute COVID-19 care (e.g., education, rehabilitation, prevention, treatment, and support services for symptoms occurring after recovery from acute COVID-19 infection)
-Primary health care (e.g., wellness checks, health exams, referrals)
“We understand that survivors of Domestic Violence do not prioritize their health. The Mobile Medical Unit will give survivors the opportunity to take care of their medical needs in a safe and confidential location,” said Caroline Prijatel-Sutton, Psy.D, Executive Director, Coalition for Family Harmony.
The mobile health care services grant is important for the Coalition to continue its momentum and great efforts of improving the quality of life and creating hope for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
