In the ever-evolving field of gene therapy, a remarkable webinar is set to shed light on significant advancements in the ability to improve AAV purification and separation during downstream processing. A free webinar titled “Enhancing AAV Full Capsid Enrichment with an Optimized AEX Platform: A Case Study” is scheduled to take place, presenting the findings from a partnership between two key industry players: Teknova and Sartorius BIA Separations.
The webinar will focus on the successful separation of AAV empty and full capsids using anion exchange chromatography (AEX). Using a design of experiments approach, the team considered both the purification platform and buffer composition to achieve high recovery and purity. Their efforts resulted in achieving more than 85 percent full AAV capsid enrichment with 80-95 percent recoveries using CIMmultus QA for the polishing step, given a starting purity of 46% full capsids.
The speaker for this informative session is Dr. Bella Neufeld, PhD, Director of Research and Development at Teknova. With a rich background in custom reagent manufacturing, quality standards, and gene therapy bioprocessing research programs, Dr. Neufeld has led the introduction of Teknova’s first proprietary product line for AAV gene therapy development: AAV-Tek™ Solutions. She focuses on addressing key bottlenecks across the entire gene therapy workflow, to help gene therapy developers accelerate their breakthroughs and get to the clinic faster.
The webinar presents a case study in which the team achieved high recovery and purity of AAV particles using Teknova buffers and Sartorius BIA Separations monoliths. It will also demonstrate the critical parameters that affect the full capsid enrichment step in AAV purification. The event is recommended for process development scientists in downstream purification of AAV, as well as CMO and CDMO leaders interested in establishing a screening platform for AAV full capsid enrichment.
As a leading producer of critical reagents for the life sciences industry, Teknova has been innovating the manufacture of these essential ingredients for more than 25 years. Teknova’s commitment to support industry leaders in cell and gene therapy, molecular diagnostics, and synthetic biology with fully customizable solutions for every stage of the workflow enables the acceleration of novel therapies that will ultimately help people live longer, healthier lives.
A collaboration between Teknova and Xtalks is bringing this webinar to the scientific community. The free webinar, “Enhancing AAV Full Capsid Enrichment with an Optimized AEX Platform: A Case Study,” is scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2023, at 1pm EDT (10am PDT).
