MCG Health, part of the Hearst Health network and an industry leader in technology-enabled, evidence-based guidance, announces its Technical Product Manager for Medical Informatics, Abigail Armstead, will host experts from Mary Washington Healthcare at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)’s 2023 Annual Conference. The HFMA conference runs June 25-28, 2023, and will take place at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee.
The session, “Finding Financial Predictability using AI in an Industry that is Anything but Predictable,” is part of the Innovation & Technology spotlight and will take place on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 9:50 am to 10:40 am Central Time. Ms. Armstead will host four thought leaders from Mary Washington Healthcare: Sarah Ogle, Senior VP of Revenue Cycle; Mary Loyd, Manager of Service Coordination and Performance Improvement; Cheri Basso, Director of Care Coordination; and Kimberly Mitkowski, Manager of Care Coordination.
The session will explore current challenges hospitals face in optimizing patient throughput, maintaining patient satisfaction, and maximizing appropriate revenue while minimizing their cost burdens. Mary Washington Healthcare, a recent recipient of the Richard L. Doyle Award for Innovation and Leadership in Healthcare, will share how they successfully navigated these obstacles to reduce denials, improve hospital throughput, and apply unique AI technologies (including MCG Indicia for Admission Documentation) to optimize their utilization review workflow. Attendees can expect to learn about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline clinical, financial, and operational aspects of the patient’s care journey into one experience. The speakers will also discuss valuable insights for process improvement, cost containment, and useful tactics to manage labor shortages and economic factors without sacrificing innovation.
“We’re excited to discuss Mary Washington Healthcare’s success pursuing an innovative mindset and leveraging new AI-based technologies,” said Ms. Armstead. “We’re hopeful that the insights we share in this session will help other hospitals facing these same industry challenges find a path forward for their communities.”
