Through our boot camp, graduates will acquire essential bleeding control skills, earn official certification, and become empowered first responders.

Unitek Learning is thrilled to announce the integration of the “Stop the Bleed” training course into their EMT program. Beginning in July of 2023, this lifesaving class will equip Unitek EMT students with critical skills to act quickly and effectively in bleeding emergencies. Aspiring EMTs will have the opportunity to enhance their education and make a real impact during emergencies.

“This is thrilling news for our team and the community,” said Jessica Gonzalez, Director of the EMT Program. “Through our boot camp, graduates will acquire essential bleeding control skills, earn official certification, and become empowered first responders.”

Developed by the American College of Surgeons, this training course contains three essential techniques to save lives: applying pressure, packing wounds, and correctly applying a tourniquet. Other benefits include experienced instructors who provide live, in-person training, helping to ensure that students master the skills they need to make a life-or-death difference in emergencies.

“At Unitek, we are dedicated to preparing the next generation of top-notch EMTs and helping them with their ongoing success,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek Learning. “Because our Boot Camp prepares EMTs in just 14 days, Unitek EMT is uniquely qualified to help combat shortages and replenish the workforce. Now we hope to save more lives through the ‘Stop the Bleed’ campaign.”
