Following the December 2022 release of the Proposed Rule on Advancing Interoperability and Improving Prior Authorization Processes from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), many health plans and hospitals are preparing for the technological transformation that will be required to automate prior authorizations.
Regence, MultiCare Connected Care, and MCG were the first members of the HL7® Da Vinci Project to complete a scalable, end-to-end automation workflow for prior auth using the HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) standard with the HL7 Da Vinci Project implementation guides (IGs). In May 2023, the three organizations were recognized by KLAS with a Points of Light award for their breakthrough work.
The AHIP 2023 conference takes place in Portland, Oregon, at the Oregon Convention Center, from June 13-15, 2023. More information is available about this event here: https://www.ahip.org/conferences/ahip-2023
