The DFree Pro web-based dashboard can show patients’ urination timings at a glance using a chart.

“DFree Pro has been helpful in obtaining assessment of our residents,” said Masumi Tatsuno RN, CM who works at Umenoki Gardens Senior Home in Union City, Calif. “Now we can better understand the intervals between bathroom visits and provide more timely care.”

Triple W, an innovator of connected health devices, today announced that DFree® Pro, the first wearable for urinary incontinence, features a new web-based dashboard for monitoring patient data on a browser running on a desktop or laptop computer. Now care professionals can monitor their patients’ urinary status at a glance using either the DFree Pro app on their smartphone or tablet or via the DFree Pro web dashboard on a desktop or laptop computer. DFree stands for “diaper-free” and helps to prevent accidental urinary leaks. DFree Pro is designed for use by hospitals, skilled nursing and senior care communities. DFree Pro is currently used in over 500 senior care communities in Japan, Europe and the U.S. since 2017.

DFree Pro is a non-invasive wearable device that monitors the bladder with an ultrasound sensor and sends notifications to a caregiver’s smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer when their patients need to go to the bathroom via the DFree Pro companion app or the web dashboard. The app and dashboard can track multiple patients on a single screen so the caregiver will know which patients need toileting care. DFree Pro pairs with a WiFi base station to upload a patient’s urination status to the cloud to enable remote monitoring by physicians, nurses and professional care providers.

The device is designed primarily for seniors and people with a disability who suffer from loss of bladder control. DFree Pro can also significantly reduce the burden for caregivers who need to provide bathroom assistance. Based on results from deploying DFree Pro in senior care communities, use of DFree Pro contributed to 30 percent reduction in overall care time provided and 50 percent reduction in cost of diapers and pads used. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, urinary incontinence affects 500 million people worldwide (including 25 million Americans).

“DFree Pro has been helpful in obtaining assessment of our residents,” said Masumi Tatsuno RN, CM who works at Umenoki Gardens Senior Home in Union City, Calif. “Now we can better understand the intervals between bathroom visits and amount of accumulated urine which enables us to provide more timely care.”

“DFree Pro makes it easy for caregivers to quickly get a read on their patients’ urinary status whether they’re using a smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop computer,” said Atsushi Nakanishi, Founder and CEO for Triple W. “Caregivers can anticipate each patient’s needs resulting in improved quality of care for the patient while simultaneously improving care efficiency and decreasing the number of diapers needed.”
