Reproductive Specialists of the Carolinas Welcomes Accomplished Fertility Doctor And Innovator To Practice

Reproductive Specialists of the Carolinas (RSC), a leading fertility practice, is proud to announce that Dr. Ashley Eskew, an award-winning, renowned reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, recently joined this boutique fertility practice as their third doctor. She complements her diverse medical experience with a unique clinical background. Dr. Eskew continues to provide RSC patients with a high level of advanced and inclusive reproductive care.

Double board-certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Eskew has the education and training needed to diagnose and treat all infertility causes.

Dr. Eskew received her undergraduate degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Next, she received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Completing her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Eskew completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Washington University in St. Louis, where she also earned her Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI).

Dr. Eskew’s clinical interests focus on the impact of dietary and lifestyle factors on fertility and reproductive outcomes, particularly those for in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures. Her devotion to this area extends to her role as co-founder of OvulifeMD, an evidence-based digital education company that helps empower individuals undergoing fertility treatment to make lifestyle changes that actually matter.

Among the many awards she’s received are the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society’s “Excellence in Training Award- Oral Abstract” and “Merit Excellence in Fellowship Research,” and the Washington University Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) Just-In-Time Funding Award. Dr. Eskew writes and publishes a host of peer-reviewed articles and studies advancing reproductive medicine and optimizing patient experiences. Additionally, she lectures and presents at various fertility organizations.

As a long-time advocate of improving access to fertility services and reproductive health for all patients, particularly in Charlotte, where access to fertility care is challenging and limited, she brings her passion for patient care, diverse experience, and interests to the RSC practice.

“Becoming a part of an innovative practice like Reproductive Specialists of the Carolinas, and working alongside Drs. Johnson, Ghidei, and the RSC team, is very exciting,” stated Dr. Eskew. “Having the opportunity to improve access to state-of-the-art fertility care in the Carolinas, while helping patients achieve their dreams of a family is incredibly rewarding. I look forward to helping make those dreams come true at RSC’s new state of the ART IVF facility.” In her downtime, she practices yoga, travels, and enjoys time outdoors, while spending quality time with friends and family.

“I am very happy that Dr. Eskew is joining our practice. As with Dr. Ghidei, another recent addition, I feel that our patients will benefit from working with a new, young, intelligent, and passionate REI,” stated Dr. Johnson. “Beyond her diverse experience and skill, I am excited to see how her specific research background, with its focus on dietary and lifestyle impacts, enhances our fertility care. Welcome to the RSC family, Dr. Eskew!”

Dr. Eskew’s addition to the RSC staff is just this practice’s latest announcement. In 2022, the practice brought on Dr. Luwan Ghidei, who, like Dr. Eskew, is an award-winning reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, providing patients with greater care and treatment opportunities. In addition, the practice relocated to a new, 11,000-square-foot facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Boasting a cutting-edge IVF laboratory, this location provides patients with such treatment options as IVF, intrauterine insemination (IUI), infertility assessments, oncofertility, and egg freezing. This new location complements the practice’s boutique-style approach, as patients won’t have to travel far for their retrieval, making their fertility care experience more convenient and accessible.
