In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), Cayman has received authorization for a first-of-its-kind distribution campaign to supply Fentanyl Analog Screening (FAS) Kits to authorized forensic institutions worldwide in an effort to disrupt the global production and supply of synthetic opioids.
The FAS Kit and its expansion panels (FAS Kit – Emergent Panels Versions 1, 2 and 3, and 4) contain analog reference standard materials that enable labs to screen for 250 synthetic opioid compounds, including more than 210 fentanyl analogs. These kits are part of the Traceable Opioid MaterialĀ® Kits (TOM KitsĀ®) product line, which was designed and developed by the CDC to support laboratory detection and identification of current and emerging opioids. The CDC has contracted Cayman, an ISO-accredited reference material producer, to manufacture and distribute FAS Kits to qualified testing labs in the US since 2018.
FAS Kits are available through Cayman Chemical free-of-charge to approved international applicants. Requesting labs are responsible for costs related to delivery, including freight, customs duties, and administrative fees, for shipments from Cayman Chemical and must be able to provide necessary documentation required for the importation of controlled substances as requested. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Laboratories may request the full set or a subset of the available FAS Kits listed above.
Contact Cayman at faskit@caymanchem.com for application instructions.
