PlatformQ Health Presenting at ASCO Poster Discussion Session on Diversity and Clinical Trial Enrollment

“We have a long-standing focus on improving equitable representation in clinical trials,” said Robert Rosenbloom, PlatformQ Health President and CEO. “We’re incredibly honored for our work to be selected for inclusion in this discussion at ASCO, the world’s largest cancer research conference.”

PlatformQ Health will be presenting DEI-focused research at the 2023 ASCO Annual Meeting session titled, “Representing the Underrepresented: Improving Clinical Trial Enrollment”. PlatformQ Health Senior Medical Director, Tariqa Ackbarali, PhD, MS, will join faculty from leading medical institutions to share insights on this pressing national healthcare issue.

Lack of equitable representation of patients across different ethnic, racial, and age groups impedes the ability to ensure the safety and efficacy of new therapies for all patients. In addition, the passage of the Food and Drug Omnibus Reform Act (FDORA) in late 2022 now requires biopharma companies to submit a diversity action plan to FDA in advance of launching a new pivotal study, raising the stakes for deeper engagement on practical solutions.

“We have a deep commitment to health equity, and a long-standing focus on improving equitable representation in clinical trials,” said Robert Rosenbloom, PlatformQ Health President and CEO. “We’re incredibly honored for our work to be selected for inclusion in this important discussion at ASCO, the world’s largest cancer research conference.”

Since 2018, PlatformQ Health has created digital education focused on clinical trial awareness and improvement of diverse representation in trials, empowering both clinician and patient communities with insights for action. In the ASCO panel discussion – being held from 4:30-6:00 PM on June 3 – Dr. Ackbarali will share outcomes from the company’s recent educational initiative focused on diversity in breast and lung cancer trials.

The discussion session will take place in auditorium E350, located on level 3 of the McCormick Place Lakeside Center, East Building in Chicago.
