Lions collect and recycle eyeglasses and distribute them to people in need all over the world. We would like to encourage you to recycle your used eyeglasses. There will be a Lions Club Vehicle on 7th Street near Constitution Avenue where you may drop off used eyeglasses on Memorial Day. You can also find eyeglass recycle boxes in many locations. The goal of Lions Clubs International is to reach out to veterans and offer them the opportunity to become part of our organization and give back to their communities. “Additionally, Lions will be paying special tribute to and honoring all Veterans and particularly those heroes who made the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives for their country.”
Many of the Lions in the parade are veterans who have served their country honorably are today still committed to serving their communities through volunteerism, service and education especially for sight and hearing issues. Lion Veterans can be identified by the Red, White and Blue Patriotic Sashes they will be wearing.
The Lions Club’s float will proudly display the Lions theme for this year. “Together WE Can” alongside the marching Lions. Scheduled to be on the float is our current International President Brian Sheehan and his wife Lion Lori Sheehan along with Lion Leaders and distinguished Veteran Lions who continue to serve their communities in many ways.
