I believe Holy Spirit laid it on my heart about 15 years ago that one day I would write a book about my experiences with chronic disease/illness, especially focusing on the invisibility of it all…

Author Erin Leopold motivates readers to never give up by sharing her own powerful story in Finding My Second Wind: Running Through Difficult Pain Finishing Strong with Warrior Faith ($17.49, paperback, 9781662872686; $8.99, e-book, 9781662872693).

When an invisible illness shook her world, Leopold, an athlete, had two options; wallow in self-pity or explore a deeper faith and hope in God. As her inspiring memoir thoughtfully shares, she used her heart of an athlete, courageously trusting in God. Leopold shares her personal journey of healing her spirit, soul, and body from a long struggle with chronic disease and how she partnered with God to achieve complete healing. Relatable with many readers, her road was not smooth so her faith and endurance faced bumps in the road while facing seemingly impossible obstacles. Leopold aims to help readers to never give up, by equipping them to become the most excellent version of who God destined them to be.

When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Leopold said, “I believe Holy Spirit laid it on my heart about 15 years ago that one day I would write a book about my experiences with chronic disease/illness, especially focusing on the invisibility of it all. Suffering is painful when what your life circumstances show do not match up to your physical condition. My heart aches for others dealing with Lyme disease.”

Erin Leopold holds a BA in Elementary Education.
