BrightStar Care, Founder, and CEO Shelly Sun was named a McKnight’s Women of Distinction award winner in the Hall of Honor category for 2023. McKnight’s prestigious Women of Distinction awards is a joint program of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, McKnight’s Senior Living, and McKnight’s Home Care. The program, in its fifth year, recognizes women who have made a significant impact on their organization or in the industry.
This spring, Sun will be inducted into the Hall of Honor as part of McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program which honors senior-level professionals in the C-suite or at a level equivalent to the vice president or higher who have made instrumental contributions to their organizations and have established innovation and growth within their companies. McKnight’s also considers each winner’s exceptional achievements and commitment to service including their charitable endeavors, academic accomplishments, and influence on the industry.
“I am immensely grateful to be recognized on McKnight’s reputable 2023 Women of Distinction list and to be named among other fierce, innovative women in the healthcare space,” said Shelly Sun, Founder and CEO of BrightStar Care. “Since launching BrightStar Care more than 20 years ago my goal has been to enrich lives and provide the full continuum of care, which has been validated by my network’s superior clinical outcomes and Joint Commission Accreditation. I am passionate about empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, franchisees, and healthcare executives, and am thrilled that my leadership as a female founder is being recognized at this national level.”
Nominations for this distinguished honor were judged by an external panel of industry experts. Twenty-one elite executives in skilled nursing, senior living, and home care are being inducted into McKnight’s Women of Distinction Hall of Honor this year. All winners will be honored at an in-person celebration on May 22 in Chicago hosted by McKnight’s.
