Taiwan is Honored with the Eco-Friendly
“Green” Destination Silver Magellan Awards in the U.S.
Taiwan Tourism Bureau is devoted to promoting “Green Travel”. A series of Taiwan cycling videos to promote travel on two wheels are submitted by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau Los Angeles Office to the Magellan Awards – the most prestigious competition among the U.S. Travel Industry. The exciting news arrived on the 11th that Taiwan has won the Eco-Friendly “Green” Destination Silver Magellan Award.
Director Yung-Hui Chou of the Tourism Bureau shared that the Bureau support the global sustainable tourism initiative; upholding the Tourism 2020: A Sustainable Tourism Development Strategy, Green Tourism is being promoted with immense effort. Pragmatic plans are implemented that showcase to the world of Taiwan’s passion and love for planet earth. Furthermore, the bureau is set to promote “Taiwan Cycling Tourism” in 2021 and the goal is to cultivate an impactful global green tourism trend.
With the rapid growth of the U.S. self-guided travelers to Taiwan, Director Brad Shih from the Tourism Bureau of Los Angeles office said, “Travelers can utilize the economical and convenient You Bike and City Bike in cosmopolitan areas. These bikes can be rented and returned easily with Easy card or iPASS. There is also the Taiwan Cycling Route No.1 at approximately 900km long. It is one of the most desired Taiwan cycling experiences and routes for the U.S. cycling enthusiasts. Cyclists can also indulge in local and authentic cuisines along their journeys making Taiwan the most exciting green destination to visit.”
The Taiwan cycling festival will continue to take place during this Fall season. Events like the Sun Moon Lake Come! Bikeday will launch on November 3rd; cyclists will get to enjoy one of the 10 most beautiful cycling routes in the world for a 30km ride while immersing in the scenic lake and mountain views.
