Java Original Coffee Company to Support The Onco’Zine Brief Radio Broadcast and Podcast

The support from the Java Original Coffee Company helps us produce The Onco’Zine Brief and create awareness for difficult to treat cancers and topics including disparities in healthcare and access to cancer care as well as cancer prevention, -treatment and -diagnosis.

Today, the Java Original Coffee Company announced that it is partnering with The Onco’Zine Brief, a radio broadcast and podcast about research findings in cancer, as well as cancer prevention, – diagnoses, and – treatment, for an ongoing two-year sponsorship. As part of the agreement, a percentage of earnings from online premium coffee purchases will be set aside to support the production of new episodes of The Onco’Zine Brief, and expand the broadcast’s syndication.

The sponsorship is part of the Java Original Coffee Company’s commitment to support the cancer (research) community and help physicians, including oncologists and hematologists (and other healthcare professionals) empower people, (cancer) patients and their family and friends with accurate information about cancer prevention, -diagnoses, -treatment.

Why cancer?

According to the American Cancer Society, overall cancer mortality has dropped 33% since 1991, averting an estimated 3.8 million cancer deaths. In a recent publication, the American Cancer Society, also said that in 2023 there are projected to be 1,958,310 new cancer cases and 609,820 cancer deaths in the United States. [1] Some of these cancers may be prevented by specific prevention strategies and early diagnosis. However, cancer prevention requires that people have the right information and access to healthcare. In creating the ‘Shop-for-a-Cause/Make a Difference,’ campaign, Java Original Coffee Company is committed to support 13 organizations involved in (cancer) research and treatment and in the development of continued education programs for physicians and ongoing healthcare information programs for (cancer) patient and their family & friends. As part of this commitment, Java Original Coffee Company donates 3.25% of earnings of all online purchases of premium roasted artisan coffees.
