Having worked with treatment providers all around the world, I can confidently say that I have never seen a more dedicated team or a more comprehensive approach than I’ve seen at A Better Life Recovery. I am excited to see how this partnership blossoms

A Better Life Recovery, a leading addiction treatment provider and owner of A Mission for Michael, an intensive mental health facility, announced it has named Tim Ryan and Jennifer Gimenez as the facility’s official Recovery Activists to oversee client relations, business development and national advocacy efforts.

“We are proud to announce that Jennifer and Tim have joined our incredibly dedicated staff at A Better Life Recovery,” says Co-Founder, Jeff Robbins. “Their boundless efforts to educate and help others who suffer from the disease of addiction is something we strongly support at A Better Life. We look forward to seeing how our aligned missions bring about positive change for not only our patients, but the treatment industry as a whole.”

A tireless activist in today’s drug crisis, Tim Ryan is no stranger to addiction–or to the stigma that comes with being an addict. Tim helps break down barriers so that communities, corporations, families, and individuals can implement lasting change in the addiction crisis.

Despite a successful business career as a high-tech recruiter, Tim found himself in the grips of heroin use and ultimately was sentenced to prison for drug-related convictions. Tim was released in just 14 months, using his time behind bars to grasp sobriety through long-term recovery.

Six months after his release, tragedy struck. His 20-year-old son, Nick–for whom Tim had paved the way to use deadly drugs–died of an overdose. Nick’s death further catalyzed Tim’s mission to spread long-term recovery and real solutions to anyone who would listen.

“Having worked with treatment providers all around the world, I can confidently say that I have never seen a more dedicated team or a more comprehensive approach than I’ve seen at A Better Life Recovery. I am excited to see how this partnership blossoms.”

In addition to consulting organizations, communities, and lawmakers on how to combat the drug crisis facing our nation, Tim Ryan was the subject of the A&E documentary, Dope Man, reaching millions. He has been a featured thought leader in numerous national media, including USA Today, Newsweek, Chicago Tribune, and “The Steve Harvey Show” with Dr. Drew, and dozens of nationally syndicated radio shows. He was named “100 Most Influential leaders” by Real Leaders magazine. He is a Goodwill Ambassador, and was an invited guest by the U.S. President to the 2016 State of the Union Address. He is the author of the bestselling book, From Dope to Hope.

Jennifer Gimenez is one of the nation’s leading activists in addiction recovery and has become a regular fixture on numerous television networks and across multiple social media platforms.

After landing roles on The Young and The Restless and Bold and The Beautiful, Jennifer scored her first major film role in Ted Demme’s Blow, starring alongside Johnny Depp. She followed that up with blockbusters Vanilla Sky, Corky Romano, Charlie’s Angels as well as appearances in the Oscar nominated documentary, “Let’s Get Lost.” Surrounded by a fast-paced Hollywood lifestyle and unprepared for the trappings of fame, Gimenez eventually found herself at the mercy of her own drug and alcohol demons. Both her personal and professional life spiraled out of control and her Hollywood dream had become a dark and lonely place.

Now over 13 years sober, Gimenez has used the story of her recovery to help others, starring on VH1’s hit Sober House Seasons 1 and 2, Celebrity Rehab Season 5, and Season 6 of Rehab With Dr. Drew. She’s also appeared on The Doctors, The O’Neal’s Show on OWN, as a judge on Model Latina for SiTV, Celebrity Wife Swap and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as well as an expert on top tier media including The View, CNN, HLN, Today Show and E! News and other all press outlets.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team at A Better Life Recovery. It feels great to have a strong community of treatment professionals to lean on in this fight against one of the deadliest epidemics of our time.”

About a year ago, Gimenez and Ryan teamed up, and now travel the country sharing their stories and advocating for addiction recovery.
