BrightStar Care, the leading nationwide home care and medical staffing franchise known for providing the highest standard of quality in-home care, announced today the acquisition of four new BrightStar Owned (BSO) locations bringing its number of company-owned agencies to 20. The latest four locations added to the BrightStar Owned umbrella are located in Arizona and South Carolina, bringing the brand’s company-owned footprint coast to coast.

BrightStar Owned acquired these four locations from former BrightStar Care franchisees Andy Ray and Frank Sanders. Ray’s former offices are in Gilbert and Mesa Arizona, and Sanders in Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina. These acquisitions showcase how the BrightStar Owned program complements the franchise network so well. BrightStar Care created this initiative to further the brand’s robust franchise network and benefit its franchisees by providing an easy transition for franchisees looking to sell their operation for another business venture, retire, or move to another level of the BrightStar Care business. Ray recently shifted from franchise owner to Chief Operating Officer of BrightStar Care in this case. Sanders was able to sell his location to focus on other business ventures and aspects of his life.

“As we continue to align with where the healthcare industry is heading, we are focused on expanding BrightStar Owned by acquiring well-established franchised agencies we can learn and grow from,” said Shelly Sun, Founder and CEO of BrightStar Care. “The information and key takeaways we’re getting from BSO are vital for the future success of our network as the market continues to change rapidly. Franchising is how we became a nationwide enterprise, and we will continue to put processes in place to ensure its longevity for years to come.”

“Ray and Sanders’ agencies truly delivered a higher standard of care within their communities and will be valuable additions to BrightStar Owned,” said Andrew Tarman, Senior Vice President of Operations at BrightStar Owned. “We are most excited to learn from the scale of these locations in Arizona and South Carolina. These agencies all function as well-oiled machines with streamlined back-office processes and unique skilled care offerings, making them prime locations for the BrightStar Owned platform.”

Two years ago, BrightStar Care had just three corporate-owned agencies in its arsenal. Now through BrightStar Owned in less than two years, the brand has expanded its corporate footprint to 20 agencies. BrightStar Owned was created to utilize agencies within its platform as testing sites for new technologies, marketing, and new payer relationships to advance the entire network. Like all BrightStar Owned locations, Ray and Sanders’ agencies will provide the BSO team with valuable insights that can be evolved and shared with the broader franchise network.

With these acquisitions, BrightStar Owned now has 20 agencies from coast to coast, with a presence in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, and South Carolina. For more information on BrightStar Care and the BrightStar Owned program, please visit http://www.brightstarcare.com.
